Meghan Markle Just Shared A Rare Update On Daughter Lilibet

While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have certainly not been press shy since leaving Great Britain and their royal duties behind, one thing the couple has not done is release any photos of their baby daughter, Lilibet Diana, who was born in June 2021 — nor have they spoken about her much. Yes, they have been open with the media about the reasons they chose to leave the UK and the mental health problems they suffered through with very little help from Harry's family in both an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021 (via CNN) and on Harry's Apple TV + docuseries, "The Me You Can't See." However, they have tried to keep their children's lives private and navigate their family's new life in California.

However, it can be hard for parents not to gush over their new babies and Meghan did just that in a recent trip to New York City, according to Us Weekly.

Meghan Markle can't help being a proud mom

Meghan Markle was in front of One World Trade Center on September 23, 2021, when she made her first public — but extremely brief — public statement about her little girl. A reporter was there and asked her, "Meghan, how's Lilibet" to which Meghan replied, "She's beautiful," (via Cosmopolitan).

While this was the first public statement Meghan has made about the baby she and Prince Harry named after his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth (her nickname is Lilibet), and his mother, the late Princess Diana, Harry himself has made a few comments about the infant, calling her "very chilled" back in July.

At the same public event, he told singer Ed Sheeran, "She ... seems happy to just sit there while [our son], Archie, is running around like crazy," (via Us Weekly).

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex haven't made many public statements about Lilibet, royal insiders are always there with their information and one source told Us Weekly, "[Archie] absolutely adores his little sister and gives her lots of kisses ... He's held her with the help of his parents."
