The British beauty always nails her red carpet looks, and she was kind enough to shed some light on her standard beauty routine for a night out. For Vogue's YouTube channel, Chan discussed the step-by-step process she adheres to when applying her makeup, and it's much simpler than you might think.
To start, Chan preps her skin with a L'Oreal hyaluronic acid serum. Next, she gently applies a caffeine eye cream under each eye to brighten her skin and reduce any residual puffiness. Chan swears by her "eyebrator," which is the funny nickname her "Eternals" co-star Richard Madden uses for the FOREO IRIS Illuminating Eye Massager he recommended to Chan (via Youtube). Essentially, the eye massager "mimics the tapping used in traditional Asian skincare," as Chan explained to Women's Health.

According to the Youtube video, after Gemma Chan preps her skin, she applies a Laneige lip mask, which she says is essential if you're going to apply a bold lip color before heading out the door.
Once Chan has applied her favorite face products, she transitions into the eye makeup portion of her look. For her eyes, she uses light shades of eyeshadow, which she applies with a fluffy brush to blend the colors together naturally. In lieu of a traditional black eyeliner, Chan opts for a dark brown as it's less dramatic and much softer, which appeals to her signature style. She really luxuriates in each step of her beauty routine, as she finds the process calming.
When speaking to Women's Health, Chan said, "It can really lift your mood to put on a bright lip color or a bit of eyeliner," which is why she often goes for a bold lip. Instead of using a red lip liner, Chan goes for a softer berry shade like Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk Lip Liner. After applying lip liner, Chan adds a layer of L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Satin Lipstick in the color Maison Marais, which is a vibrant shade of red.
