How To Achieve Kristen Bell's Anti-Redness Skincare Routine

The "Veronica Mars"-obsessed know: Kristen Bell is hilarious, period. Many of us first met the actress on that show's set as a crime-solving heroine chasing after bad guys in California, leading to epic one-liners like "I hope we're still friends after I taser you." While the long-running show will always be synonymous with Bell's name, the 41-year-old actress is amazing in just about every series and movie she's in. We're still not over "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," in which Bell stars as a TV star who dumps her boyfriend in pretty much the worst way possible (come for the Hawaii scenes, stay for Russell Brand's signature brand of comedy). Bell starred in "Couples Retreat" as one-half of an overly-analytical relationship, and as the voice of Anna in "Frozen" (yes, that's her singing), so let's just say she is way too talented and we're still not over it (via IMDb). And now, as per her latest skincare and makeup tutorial with Vogue, fans are realizing she's a beauty guru, too.

Apart from all her big and small-screen appearances, Bell is known for her adorable relationship with husband Dax Shepard. An unlikely yet too-cute duo if we ever heard of one, the couple has been married since 2013 and share two daughters (via E! News). The husband and wife co-host "Family Game Fight" together, and have tons of separate projects, but yeah, Bell still finds time to pull together an incredible redness-fighting morning face routine.

It all starts with a good cleanse – and a Clarasonic

In her video for Vogue (posted on YouTube), Bell first appears with heavy makeup, just having gotten off filming. But her berry lipstick and foundation don't last long: she quickly takes them off with her skincare line Happy Dance's CBD Head-to-Toe Coconut Melt ($25) and a reusable microfiber cloth. Rubbing the coconut oil all over her face and using it to take off her mascara, Bell explains that her product is "incredibly moisturizing" and perfect for her "sensitive" skin that can get "angry" and "red." Happy Dance is her love child with CBD brand Lord Jones, and as Bell told Allure, is all about reminding people that "happiness is there for the taking."

Next up, the tool Bell admits she's addicted to: her Clarasonic Facial Cleansing Brush ($158.98). She uses the same one she purchased years ago, and even talks about buying one on trips if she forgets it at home, all the while freaking out. Bell gets her best cleanse ever with the Clarasonic and her favorite Instytutum Transforming Melting Cleanser ($54), a splurge that's perfect for keeping redness at bay. As per Women's Health, the Neutrogena ambassador told Shape that she loves the brand's Pore Refining Exfoliating Cleanser ($6.99) and their Naturals Purifying Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes ($8.80).

Once cleansed, Bell told Vogue she still suffers from breakouts, and loves applying a few drops of iS Clinical Active Serum ($138), a glow-boosting serum that's unbeatable for controlling acne.

Next: tons of moisture to control her eczema

Bell admitted in her Vogue YouTube video that she deals with eczema, which she says only gets worse with stress. Apart from maintaining her skincare routine, Bell says she gets eight to nine hours of sleep a night, drinks lots of water, and meditates as often as possible to achieve a balanced complexion. Still, products are important, too — and let's just say the actress has a list of holy grails.

Her next step is applying her bright-green Skinceuticals Phyto Corrective Gel ($67), which neutralizes the redness in her face while giving it hydration. Dr. Barbara Sturm Eye Cream ($140) is another must-have, which Bell also applies on her lips as an unexpected balm. She seals her skin with her line Happy Dance's CBD Look Alive Face Moisturizer ($29), which she says is "perfect" with avocado-based omega oils that are "really good" for the face, and 150mg of relaxing CBD.

As shared by Women's Health, Bell is a sunscreen aficionado. She told 29 Secrets, "[my mom] taught me that a full skincare regimen including sunscreen would do my skin favors later on in life," and explaining to Elle that she credits SPF as the reason behind her supernatural, "youthful appearance." As per her video for Vogue, she loves slathering on Hello Bello Mineral Baby Sunscreen, SPF 50+ ($8.78). Like many of us, Bell says she wishes she had worn SPF more often when she was younger.

Now, it's finally time for dewy makeup

Once Bell's skin is prepped, it's time for natural-as-possible makeup to let her skin shine through (without any sign of redness). First up is her can't-live-without Saie Slip Tint Dewy Tinted Moisturizer SPF 35 Sunscreen ($32), applying two pumps on her face with her fingers. As per the brand, this super-light product is "sheer" and "dewy," bringing tons of moisture with grapeseed and jojoba oil that won't break skin out. It's clear the "Frozen" actress feels you can never have too much SPF, layering on IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ ($39.50) with a sponge. This thicker product is perfect for concealing remaining redness, especially on the t-zone and cheeks.

She has a whole new outlook when it comes to makeup, believing it's more about "health" and how she feels than just how she looks. (We can definitely get on board, especially for all the work-from-home days.) Next is concealer for "brightening," which she dots under her eyes and on the sides of her mouth and blends lightly with her fingers. Since she doesn't have "a ton" of eyebrows, she needs eyebrow gel: as her makeup artist Simone Siegl told Refinery29, Bell swears by LashFood's BROWFOOD Tinted Brow Enhancing Gelfix ($24). For eyeshadow, just a light swipe of Jamie Makeup Blighlighter ($34) on her lids does the job, a "blush meets highlighter" combo. Bell applies the shadow and then wipes some off with her finger to make it look as natural as possible.

All the beauty products Bell absolutely loves

Although the 41-year-old actress keeps it minimal when it comes to makeup, there are still a few more steps to her routine. Bell has often talked about her love for Tata Harper's Lovely Vitamin Infused Cream Blush ($39), which comes in a pot for easy application on cheeks, lips, and eyelids. Her makeup artist, Siegl, explained to Refinery29 that Bell also loves the "Very Popular" shade, has the blush "in her purse at all times," and it is "her all-time favorite product." Meanwhile, the actress told Bustle she loves this product's "gorgeous terracotta color."

Next up, a light tap of Saie Sun Melt Natural Cream Bronzer ($28) with a brush, applying it on the cheekbones and temples. Keeping the look sheer, Bell loves the "watery" MAC Haute & Naughty Lash Mascara ($25) in brown, applying it on the outer corners of her lashes to open up her eyes. Her look is complete with a dab of her favorite Charlotte Tilbury Superstar Lips in Pillow Talk ($34), a moisturizing, glossy rose lipstick.

According to Refinery29, the actress can't live without Charlotte Tilbury's Luxury Palette in Pillow Talk ($53) that brings out her blue eyes, and Supergoop! Defense Refresh Setting Mist ($28) with SPF 50. Bell told Bustle that she "loves" La Mer's Crème de la Mer Moisturizer ($190) and her "absolute number one go-to [lip]" is Ilia's Color Block Lipstick in Perfect Day ($28).
