Why Archie Has Been On A Royal Tour And Prince Louis Still Hasn't

Attending royal tours overseas is a common occurrence in the lives of members of the British royal family. However, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's youngest child, Prince Louis, has yet to reach this major royal milestone. According to The Express, Louis' two older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as well as his cousin, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, have each attended royal tours abroad in the past and at a younger age than Prince Louis is now.

Back in 2019, Archie traveled to South Africa with his parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, when he was just four months old. As OK! Magazine reported, Prince George and Princess Charlotte also traveled abroad during royal visits with their parents Prince William and Kate Middleton at a very young age, with George jetting off to Australia and New Zealand when he was just nine months old, and Charlotte traveling to Canada when she was just 16 months old. So, why hasn't Louis done the same?

Prince William noted Prince Louis' adventurous side

As The Express reported, travel restrictions and social-distancing rules introduced across the United Kingdom during the Covid-19 pandemic have caused major disruptions to the royal family's travel schedule over the past year and a half, with the majority of royal engagements taking place online or in the U.K instead. However, with the continuing vaccine rollout and the easing of travel restrictions in the U.K. and beyond, royal spectators might finally get to see Prince Louis of Cambridge embark on his first-ever royal tour in the near future.

News that Louis might soon get to explore the world with his parents will no doubt be welcomed by the youngster himself, who, according to his father William, is already pretty adventurous. Speaking on the BBC podcast Newscast, the Duke of Cambridge shared details of his three children, and revealed that Prince Louis "just enjoys playing outside the whole time — he lives outside" (via The Sun). Hopefully he'll get a chance to embrace his playful side even more while traveling the world.
