Does Camilla Want Prince Charles To Cut This Person Out Of His Life?

It is rumored that Camilla Parker Bowles wants a certain someone out of Prince Charles' life after a scandal went down involving the Prince's Foundation.

According to The Daily Mail, Michael Fawcett has been the Prince's trusted aide for years and years. However, recently, there have been allegations against Fawcett, saying he was going to help Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz, who gave the foundation £1.5million, get a knighthood and British citizenship.

Now, there is an inquiry happening, which could put the blame on Fawcett and Chris Martin, the foundation's executive director of development. "They were operating behind the backs of the board. It was very much outside their knowledge," a source said. "The official running of the Prince's Foundation was good; it was what was going on unofficially that was the problem. I'm sure the Prince of Wales didn't even know what was going on." The Daily Mail went on to report that the Prince of Wales "couldn't believe" the allegations.

Parts of letters between Michael Fawcett and Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz have been published

So far, excerpts of letters sent by Michael Fawcett to Saudi businessman Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz have been released. In 2017, Mahfouz donated money, which was specifically going towards the renovation of the Dumfries House in Scotland.

Fawcett thanked him and went on to say, "I am happy to confirm to you, in confidence, that we are willing and happy to support and contribute to the application for Citizenship. I can further confirm that we are willing to make [an] application to increase His Excellency's honor from Honorary CBE [Commander of the British Empire] to that of KBE [Knight Commander of the British Empire] in accordance with Her Majesty's Honours Committee" (via indianexpress.com). Previously, Mahfouz received a CBE by Prince Charles in 2016. The Guardian reported that Mahfouz was told that such honors could help him get a British citizenship, as could investing money, since a "golden visa" grants residency in exchange for £2m.

It is said that the Prince of Wales knew nothing of this, while Fawcett, in regards to the investigation, said he will "assist in every way."

Michael Fawcett has been forced to resign two other times before this

Due to this incident, Michael Fawcett has stepped down from his position, and this is not the first time. According to The Daily Mail, he was forced to leave due to bullying accusations in 1998, as well as in 2003, for selling royal gifts.

Still, Fawcett is apparently the one "who helped protect and guide [Camilla Parker Bowles], as she transitioned from Royal mistress to Duchess of Cornwall." A source told The Daily Mail that the aide "made himself indispensable to them as a couple." As for himself, Fawcett is married to a former Palace housemaid, and together, they have two children. He was made a Member of the Victorian Order in 2000, and it had been thought that, when Prince Charles becomes king, he would secure a knighthood.

Another said, "Whatever people say about Michael, he has helped raise millions of pounds and created hundreds of jobs. His loyalty to the Prince has never wavered. If anything, their bond is stronger now than ever." In fact, it has been reported that Prince Charles once stated, "I can manage without just about anyone, except for Michael."

That may be true, but the current rumors are that the Duchess of Cornwall wants Fawcett out of her husband's life, even though the men apparently talk "at least two or three times a day."

The Duchess of Cornwall 'is not keen on having anyone else in the prince's ear,' source says

Sources spoke with The Times on the topic of Prince Charles and Michael Fawcett, stating that Camilla Parker Bowles believes the aide is "damaging" her husband. "She will be merciless in her pursuit of Michael out of the door."

As mentioned, after this "cash for Knighthood" scandal, Fawcett stepped down from his role as chief executive of the Prince's Foundation. However, the Duchess of Cornwall's dislike for him may go beyond this. "The duchess is not keen on having anyone else in the prince's ear," a source told The Times. "She is, as far as she is concerned, the only person who should be able to convince the prince of anything."

The Duchess has been married to the Prince since 2005. After the two had an affair, the public seemed to blame her for the end of Charles' and Diana's relationship, and her reputation continued to suffer after Diana's death (via NBC News). It is said that Princess Diana was not a fan of Fawcett either, as she once changed the locks on him at Kensington Palace, according to The Daily Mail.
