Becca Kufrin Says This Former Bachelor Gave Her The Best Advice Before Going On BIP

Former "Bachelorette" lead Becca Kufrin made Bachelor Nation history when she joined the cast of "Bachelor in Paradise" season 7. It was the first time a former lead joined the "Paradise" spinoff (via Monsters and Critics). When asked by Insider this past January, Kufrin said she would not join "Paradise" as a contestant. Going through two broken public engagements from the show left Kufrin unsure about the likelihood of a relationship working out from the franchise.

But there were rumors as early as March of this year that producers wanted to convince Kufrin and Blake Horstmann, the runner-up from her season, to join "Paradise" (via E! Online). Ultimately, Horstmann did not join, but Kufrin did (per People). Before making the decision to join the cast, Kufrin ruminated over the decision and consulted with several past contestants from the franchise. So who ultimately convinced Kufrin to change her mind?

This fan favorite helped Becca take the plunge

Ben Higgins, "The Bachelor" lead of season 20, swayed Becca Kufrin to join "Bachelor in Paradise" (via US Weekly and Screenrant). Higgins appeared on "Bachelor Winter Games," becoming the only former lead to star in the "Winter Games" spinoff (via Brit). While Higgins was still not over his break-up with Lauren Bushnell at the time and ended up leaving the show early, he still felt positive enough about the overall experience to recommend it to Kufrin.

Kufrin spoke to Bryan Abasolo and Mike Johnson of "Talking It Out With Bachelor Nation," and said this was Higgins' advice to her: "If you truly think you're ready to date in a public way again and can get through it and have a support system in some of your friends down there, I say do it." Other contestants who appeared on "Paradise" told Becca that it was the most fun show from the franchise. Kufrin ultimately agrees and said, "Out of everything I've filmed, 'Paradise' was the most fun, worthwhile time I've ever had on, even as my time as the Bachelorette, I would say."

Kufrin dated Thomas Jacobs during "Paradise" (via Hollywood Life). The pair broke up before "Fantasy Suites" and left "Paradise," but reconciled shortly after the show stopped airing. Known for her catchphrase, "Let's do the damn thing," it looks like "doing the damn thing," worked out for Kufrin (per Refinery29).
