Royal Author Reveals How Prince William Really Feels About Prince Harry Now

Prince William's fallout with his younger brother, Prince Harry, has been an ongoing drama for years (via Daily Mail). However, things seemed to escalate when Harry announced that he and his wife, Meghan Markle, planned to exit the royal family in early 2020.

Harry and Meghan left the United Kingdom and moved to America, where they currently reside in California, per Hello! Magazine. Since leaving the firm, Harry has returned to the UK twice. The first time was to attend the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip, in April 2021, and the second was to unveil a statue of his late mother, Princess Diana, at Kensington Palace in July.

However, things seemingly aren't thawing between the royal brothers. In May 2021, royal expert Nick Bullen told Us Weekly that Wiliam and Harry weren't even on speaking terms. "All of my sources tell me that they are not talking at the moment," he said. "It's pretty clear that the Duchess of Cambridge was doing her best to build the bridges," he added, referencing William's wife, Kate Middleton, who appeared to try to diffuse tension at Philip's funeral.

However, months later, another royal expert is giving an update about William and Harry's strained relationship.

William and Harry's relationship is still very strained, says royal expert

Royal author Robert Lacey tells Page Six that the relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry is "definitely poor" at the moment. The expert says that William recently hosted a party to thank those involved with the statue of Princess Diana and that Harry wasn't there.

However, partygoers could allegedly sense that things were unwell between William and his younger brother. "I've spoken to two people from that party and it was quite clear from things he said that his anger towards Harry remains," Lacey told the outlet.

"He remains unhappy about what his brother has done," Lacey continued. "There is no immediate possibility of any reconciliation. I mean, it's not wanted on either side. Too many bitter things have been said."

Some of those "bitter things" could include Harry's tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, when he and his wife, Meghan Markle, criticized the royal lifestyle and even accused members of the royal family of making racially insensitive comments regarding their son's skin color. Days after the interview aired, William was asked about the allegations of racism within the firm, to which he responded, "We're very much not a racist family."

It's unclear when and if the rift between William and Harry will ever be mended, but fans are holding out hope that the brothers can eventually bury the hatchet and be present in each other's lives going forward.
