What Peter Weber Has To Say About His Relationship With Kelley Flanagan
Former "Bachelor" star Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan's relationship has been the topic of conversation among fans since Weber's stint on the reality dating series. During the January 2020 premiere of Weber's season, it was revealed to viewers that the leading man had actually met one of her contestants, Flanagan, prior to the show, per Us Weekly. Then-host Chris Harrison revealed that the two shared a special moment when they met in a hotel lobby. "Kelley met Peter prior to the taping of the show," Harrison said in early 2020. "This is completely random but they met at a hotel they were both at for separate parties. She knew Peter — Peter obviously didn't know her — she went up to him, and they met, and they both think this could be destiny."
So, when Flanagan showed up for "The Bachelor," Weber was stunned. However, things didn't go well for the pair, and Flanagan was eventually sent home. Weber went on to propose to contestant Hannah Ann Sluss, but just two months into the engagement, Weber admitted he still had feelings for his runner-up, Madison Prewett. Weber and Prewett later decided that they weren't compatible.
Following the breakups, Weber and Flanagan found their way back to each other. They began dating, but their story didn't have the fairytale ended they had hoped for.
Weber gets candid about dating post-Bachelor
According to Yahoo, Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan ended their relationship at the end of 2020. The former "Bachelor" star released a statement in late December announcing the split. "While our relationship was filled with countless beautiful memories, our relationship simply didn't work out in the end," Weber said. "Kelley is someone I will always have a special love for." Nearly a year later in October 2021, Weber opened up to Us Weekly about why his breakup with Flanagan felt like the right move.
Weber admitted that his relationship with Flanagan was in the spotlight following their time on "The Bachelor" together. While the pilot claims he didn't feel "pressured" to stay with Flanagan because of Bachelor Nation, he did admit that the media attention did cause issues in the relationship. "It's just — it's unnatural," Weber stated. "It's unnatural having so many people be so interested in your relationship [and to] have every move, like, scrutinized," he added. "I remember with Kelley, when we started dating, [we were] trying to keep it hush, [stay] under wraps a little bit 'cause we're trying to figure it out in that moment. And you don't want, like, the whole Bach Nation giving their opinion on it. ... [But] you can't escape it," Weber explained.
Meanwhile, Weber is open to finding love again (via ET). While he says it's unlikely that he would return to "The Bachelor," he did admit he wouldn't rule out a stint on "Bachelor In Paradise" in the future.
