Bold And The Beautiful Love Triangles Fans Couldn't Get Enough Of

Love triangles are the stuff soap operas are made of. Sometimes you know exactly which two sides of the triangle to root for and sometimes it's so hard to choose that (all in good fun) fan wars often break out on social media. Sometimes one side of the triangle is an evil interloper like when Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) went to battle with Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) for Eric Forrester (John McCook) on "The Bold and the Beautiful" (via Soaps.com), and sometimes one person is torn apart over whom they should be with.

"B&B" has given us much more than just Stephanie/Eric/Sheila over the years and many of its most famous love triangles were the type that tore fans apart as much as the man or woman in the middle. The types of love triangles fans can't get enough of is when each side of the triangle is a (relatively) sympathetic character fans can see the potential for two different pairings. Through the more than three decades "The Bold and the Beautiful" has been on the air, the soap has delivered three such triangles that still have life left in them to head into 2022.

The forever triangle of Brooke, Ridge, and Taylor

There has been something between Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester (then played by Ronn Moss, now Thorsten Kaye) since "The Bold and the Beautiful" first premiered in 1987. Despite the chemistry between the rich playboy and the college chemistry major who was making money working catering jobs at night, they didn't get together right away, according to Soap Hub. Instead, he married sweet Caroline Spencer and she ended up marrying Ridge's father, Eric, bearing him two children.

After Caroline (Joanna Johnson) died, Brooke was there for Ridge, but so was Caroline's friend and psychiatrist, Dr. Taylor Hayes (first played by Hunter Tylo, now Krista Allen), according to Soap Hub. That introduced the decades-long triangle of Brooke/Ridge/Taylor that still plays out to this day, with Taylor having returned to town at the end of 2021 while Brooke and Ridge are having trouble with their whopping ninth marriage to one another. Ridge can never seem to make up his mind, but it might turn to Taylor temporarily now that Brooke got drunk and made a big mistake with Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) on New Year's Eve (via Soaps.com).

Liam goes back and forth between Steffy and Hope

Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) has spent the better part of the last decade waffling back and forth between Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle), has married them both more than once, and has a daughter with each of the young women (via Soaps.com). At long last, Steffy has given up on Liam and his fickle ways and (kind of) married a man who is nothing like him, Thomas Finnegan, according to Soap Hub, as Liam has stuck with Hope now for nearly three years, with only a quick one-night stand with Steffy in between.

For a while "The Bold and the Beautiful" turned this into a quadrangle when Liam's brother, Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks), was brought into the mix and Hope and Steffy spent some time married to him, as well — at separate times, of course, despite Hope and Steffy seeming like sister-wives at time. Now, Wyatt has found true love with high school sweetheart, Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden), according to Soap Hub, although we barely see either of them since their own love triangle with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) ended.

Quinn is torn between Eric and Carter in 2021

An unexpected triangle developed in 2021 that seems to have resolved itself quickly, but while it was happening, fans couldn't turn away from "The Bold and the Beautiful." Eric didn't bother telling his much younger wife, Quinn (Rena Sofer) that the reason he wasn't sleeping with her was because he was suffering from erectile dysfunction, so she thought he was no longer attracted to her and slept with Eric's trusted attorney, Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor).

When Eric learned of the affair, he was at first enraged, but then he sanctioned it and encouraged Carter and Quinn to sleep together so his wife would be satisfied, according to Soaps In Depth. In the end, Eric changed his mind, Quinn chose her husband, and Eric was miraculously cured thanks to a moment with his ex-wife, Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis), who was still in love with Eric, per Soaps.com. It turned out Donna's loss became Quinn's game, but Carter is still out there and this story may be far from over as 2021 turns into 2022.
