Here's What Tristan Thompson Did For True Before He Publicly Apologized To Khloe Kardashian

Tristan Thompson made headlines this week when he admitted to fathering a child with a woman named Maralee Nichols (via People). The NBA star took to his Instagram story to share a statement about his messy paternity suit, revealing that he had received paternity test results. "Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son," he wrote.

In his statement, Thompson also publicly apologized to his ex-girlfriend, Khloé Kardashian, whom he was allegedly dating at the time that the child was conceived. "Khloé, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you," he said. "You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry."

Kardashian is reportedly trying to remain strong for her daughter, True, and is leaning on her family during this difficult time, per Entertainment Tonight. "The family is sticking by Khloé's side and trying to uplift her," a source said, adding that the Kardashians are "kind of over" Tristan's drama. Meanwhile, it seems that Tristan is also trying to smooth things over with his daughter.

Tristan Thompson surprised his daughter with a lavish gift

TMZ reports that just an hour before Tristan Thompson publicly apologized to Khloé Kardashian for the actions, he picked up their daughter, True, from her gymnastics class. Thompson is currently in town with his team, the Sacramento Kings, to play the Los Angeles Lakers, and stopped by to see his daughter. A video showed the NBA player waiting outside of True's class on Monday, Jan. 3. Thompson reportedly waited inside an SUV while someone from inside the class brought out around 100 roses for the little girl.

The flowers were said to be a gift from Thompson to his daughter, whom he hadn't seen in a few days. In addition to True and his newest son with Maralee Nichols, the basketball player is also the father of a little boy named Prince, whose mother is his ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig, per Us Weekly.

Thompson and Kardashian split for the last time back in May, and while they've been on and off for years, sources tell TMZ that there is no chance that they'll be getting back together. Instead, the duo will focus on co-parenting their daughter going forward.
