How The Jan. 17 Full Moon Will Affect You If You're A Capricorn

On January 17th, the first full moon of 2022 is going to rise. January's full moon is always known as the Wolf Moon, partly because of how much more frequent wolf howling is during this month. But beyond its association with these pack animals, there are deeper spiritual meanings that impact how we feel the full moon's effects.

"The wolf moon that comes in the dead of winter is a time for transformation and introspection," Stina Garbis, psychic and astrologer, told PopSugar in an interview. "It is a time of figuring out what you need in order to have a successful life. It's about sacrifice and finding personal truth and discovering your purpose and how it relates to the bigger picture and society as a whole."

Just like wolves, people roam in their own packs. So of course the Wolf Moon has, according to Bustle, big "protection, security, and empowerment" energy. With the full moon sitting in Cancer, everyone is going to need to prepare for a potential tidal wave of feelings about home or family life. This could mean having to face down insecurities or fears you're having about your job or partner, especially with the sun currently sitting in Capricorn.

Capricorns should focus on relationships during the full moon

If your sun or rising sign is in Capricorn, you've been focused on family, home, and healing since the new moon. Healing, and healing within your family or partnerships, continue to be major themes as we head into the full moon on January 17th.

"The main lesson to learn during this Full Moon is to stop giving your power away to other people, beliefs and stories that hold you back," Kristy Gallagher, Moon Mentor, told The Express in an interview, adding, "It's time to stop giving power to fear and doubt." Facing fear and self-doubt head-on takes a lot of courage and a lot of energy. Capricorns are especially focused on taking on as much responsibility as possible for the people around them. They make it their job to fix everything, according to Co-Star Astrology. However, this full moon is asking Capricorns to turn that energy onto themselves for once.

Capricorns also can't keep trying to prove they need nothing, especially in relationships. Acting like you need nothing takes away chances for emotional intimacy — but is really convenient if you're terrified of what you're feeling. Use the full moon as a time to be brave and feel your feelings, Capricorn. There's no better way to be a responsible partner than to work towards finding a balance between giving and taking.
