Did Kim Cattrall Just Throw Subtle Shade At The Sex And The City Reboot?

The return of everyone's favorite steamy sitcom from the '90s "Sex and The City" with the reboot "And Just Like That..." instantly sent fans into a frenzy. While it's had polarized reviews with many critiquing its awkwardness, fans still eagerly tune in each and every week excited to watch it all unfold (via The New York Times). Regardless of whether you love the reboot or love to hate-watch it, it's still refreshing to see everyone's favorite ladies back on their TV screens. Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte strut around New York City like no time has passed, but one missing component of the dynamic foursome is glaringly obvious: Samantha.

When fans heard Kim Cattrall wouldn't be rejoining the cast they were outraged as Samantha was the favorite character of many, and her absence would be sure to take away a huge chunk of how entertaining the show was (via Cheat Sheet). However, to true fans of the show, this decision came as no surprise. And Cattrall has shadily made it clear yet again that she has no regrets about not being part of the reboot.

Kim Cattrall likes tweet calling reboot 'trashy'

The ongoing feud between Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker has been heartbreaking to many. Samantha and Carrie are friendship goals after all, so to imagine that behind the scenes the duo weren't even speaking was a hard pill to swallow (via Elle). Over the years, Cattrall has often candidly spoken on how she feels about Parker, especially in her infamous 2017 interview with Piers Morgan where she called out her costars for being "toxic" (via the Daily Mail)

While Cattrall wasn't even in "And Just Like That..." her absence has still ended up being the biggest topic surrounding the show. Parker responded to a commenter claiming she didn't like Cattrall and that's why she wasn't in the reboot, saying, "No. I don't dislike her. I've never said that. Never would. Samantha isn't part of this story. But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do" (via Entertainment Weekly).

Cattrall's feelings have been less cheerful, though, and she made it especially clear by liking an especially shady tweet. With Cattrall's new role in "How I Met Your Father" debuting, a fan tweeted, "So proud of @KimCattrall for skipping the trashy S&TC reboot and doing @HIMYFonHulu. She's wonderful" (via Cosmopolitan). Cattrall liked the tweet and sent fans into a frenzy with the subtle shade of it all.
