Bindi Irwin Shares The Surprising Connection Between Her Wedding Vows And Her Daughter's Birthday

Bindi Irwin, daughter of famous Australian conservationist Steve Irwin, met her now husband Chandler Powell at the Irwin's Australia Zoo in 2013 (per Brides). He was in Australia for a professional wakeboarding competition, and he stopped by for a visit on the day that Irwin was giving tours of the facility. At the time, she posted a picture of the two of them on her Instagram, writing "Legendary wakeboarder Chandler Powell and his beautiful family came into @AustraliaZoo yesterday. Wonderful Wildlife Warriors!"

Two years later, the pair went public with their relationship, and Powell ended up moving to Australia in 2018. He proposed on her 21st birthday with a beautiful, environmentally conscious engagement ring. Then, in a quiet ceremony at the Australia Zoo in 2020, the couple officially tied the knot (via Brides). A year later, the couple welcomed a baby girl to their family: Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. The timing of Grace's birth just so happened to coincide not only with their wedding anniversary, but with their wedding vows, as well.

Bindi Irwin's daughter was born almost to the minute of her wedding vows

In November 2021, Bindi Irwin posted a picture on Instagram from her wedding to Chandler Powell. Included in the post was a second picture of an Australian Zoo onesie along with the birth information of their daughter, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. The sweet caption included the time of Grace's birth, and Irwin explained what she'd finally realized: "Grace Warrior was born at 5:52pm on the 25th of March 2021. We just discovered that Chandler and I said our vows and were officially married exactly 3 minutes earlier on the 25th of March 2020. Three. Minutes. This is why I believe in miracles." How sweet is that?

Their baby girl's time of arrival isn't the only sweet thing about the young family, though this one was more planned. Grace's name holds a connection to Irwin's family dating back to the 1700s. On Twitter, she outlined the touching reason for the name — Irwin's great-grandmother and other family relatives were named Grace, and "her middle names Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior." And the last name, Powell, works out perfectly since "she already has such a kind soul just like her dad."
