What Did Tamara Braun Say About Her Return To Days Of Our Lives?

"Days of Our Lives" is notorious for creating bad girl characters that fans either love or love to hate. Characters such as Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus), Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk/Eileen Davidson), Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), and Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) are some of Salem's most vicious bad girls (via TV Overmind). However, there is another fierce woman who has been scheming since her return to "DOOL."

The character of Ava Vitali, played by former "General Hospital" star Tamara Braun, is a mafia princess who formerly held an obsession for her former flame, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols), per Soap Central. Ava has been at the center of plenty of crime and drama during her time on the NBC soap opera. She's wounded major characters such as Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), and even caused a plane crash that killed Shawn Brady Sr. Over the years, she's tried to win Steve over by getting between him and the love of his life, Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans), but she's been unsuccessful.

When she came back to Salem with news that she and Steve had a long-lost son named Tripp, things went from bad to worse. Ava was eventually killed off, but fans know that no one is ever really dead in Salem.

Tamara Braun has nothing but love for DOOL

In 2020, it was revealed that Ava Vitali was not dead and that the "Days of Our Lives" character had actually been resurrected by Dr. Rolf's serum, which is responsible for bringing many Salem citizens out of the grave like Jack Deveraux, Vivian Alamain, Will Horton, and EJ DiMera.

When actress Tamara Braun was asked to return to "DOOL," she was excited to play Ava again. "I love Ava Vitali!" Braun told Soap Opera Digest back in November 2020. "I loved her the most the first time around, because she was really fleshed out and interesting and wild, and we found many levels to her," she admitted.

Braun also revealed that she enjoys working on the set of "DOOL" with all the wonderful actors. "[The show] just has such a nice energy," she said. "The people are great and it has always been a nice thing to walk into, it's always felt good and welcoming. Seeing Stephen [Nichols, Steve] and Mary Beth [Evans, Kayla] again was just so great. Getting to work with the two of them is always a draw because I love them as people. They are incredible human beings, and to get to work with good people who bring good energy and everybody works together — there's nothing better."

Of course, fans have also enjoyed seeing Ava back on their TV screens, and can't wait to see what kind of trouble she'll cause next.
