Kanye West Can't Make A Decision On His Divorce From Kim Kardashian

The ongoing legal battle between Kanye West and Kim Kardashian as they finalize their divorce proceedings has resulted in a number of interesting episodes. There have been reports of Kanye buying a house across the street from Kim (via Elle), and the rapper featured his estranged wife in concerts ahead of his album, "Donda." The latter move prompted fans to wonder if the couple would actually get back together.

But Kim went on to date Pete Davidson; meanwhile Kanye dated Julia Fox, and recent reports link him with Chaney Jones (via CNN). That hasn't stopped him from speaking out about his family. Who could possibly forget the war of words that occurred in early February over the couple's daughter, North, being on TikTok (via People)? Kim responded by accusing the hitmaker of "constant attacks" in a rare public statement. Kanye still allegedly went on to send her a truckload of roses on Valentine's Day.

While all that has been going on, Kanye appears to be struggling with a key decision impacting his divorce. He has reportedly hired and fired several attorneys and is seemingly unable to make up his mind on who to proceed with.

Kanye reportedly hired five attorneys to handle his divorce from Kim Kardashian

In her emotional public statement Kim Kardashian alleged that Kanye West has gone through several lawyers since she filed for divorce. "Hopefully he can finally respond to the third attorney he has had in the last year to resolve any issues amicably," Kim wrote in her Instagram story (via People). It appears that the number of attorneys who have taken on the case has grown since then.

TMZ reported that the rapper fired his most recent lawyer Chris Melcher and replaced him with Samantha Spector. Sources close to the matter told the publication that things had been strained between Kanye and Melcher before the axing. Melcher confirmed his dismissal to Billboard. Spector is the lawyer who recently represented Nicole Young in her divorce proceeding against Dr. Dre.

Interestingly, Kanye's decision to fire his old lawyer came on the cusp of a March 2 court hearing to decide whether Kim could be declared legally single — a motion which the judge granted the mother of four, per Cosmopolitan. This most recent divorce attorney hire is reportedly Kanye's fifth since 2021, Billboard noted. Hopefully he and Spector are able to work things out together.
