The Life-Long Mentality Sydney Sweeney Learned From Brad Pitt

Sydney Sweeney wasn't exactly a household name when she was cast in Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood" alongside Hollywood heavy-hitters Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Margot Robbie. Sweeney's role as a member of the Manson Family was small, but the effect of that role was huge — both personally and professionally.

Sweeney began pursuing acting in earnest when she was quite young. In an interview with ET Canada, she talked about how her 12-year-old self put together a presentation for her parents, outlining her 5-year business plan for pursuing her dream.

That determination and drive from such a young age clearly paid off because these days, Sweeney has a resume filled with standout roles on "The White Lotus," "The Handmaid's Tale," and "Sharp Objects" — just to name a few. And only someone living in a cave could have missed all the buzz surrounding HBO's adolescent drama "Euphoria" and its charismatic young stars, especially Sweeney. (But, fans may be surprised to learn, she originally declined auditioning for the show.)

Brad Pitt taught Sydney Sweeney a key lesson

No matter how big a star Sydney Sweeney becomes, it seems the Spokane, Wash. native is determined to keep in mind what she learned from all the Hollywood royalty on the set of "Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood."

In an interview with Coveteur, Sweeney recounted how "kind and supportive" Quentin Tarantino and the actors were right from the start. The main lesson she took away from the whole experience was, in fact, kindness. She shared, "Brad [Pitt] is so kind and humble to every single person. It doesn't matter who they are, and it just spoke so much to me."

She continued, "He was just hanging out with the crew guys, and I loved that. You guys are working together, and no one is above anyone. And I loved that he still had that mentality." It was a mentality that she decided to emulate: I told myself that, for the rest of my life, I'm going to make sure I'm like that."

With her talent, strong work ethic, and determination to remain kind and humble (not to mention her years of training in mixed martial arts), Sweeney is definitely an up-and-coming celebrity to keep an eye on.
