Is Finn Really Dead On The Bold And The Beautiful?

"The Bold and the Beautiful" shocked fans with a twist nobody saw coming on April 1, 2022. In fact, in social media circles, some fans wondered if this could have been an April Fools joke. Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) had finally learned that Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) was the one who switched labels on champagne bottles and sparkling cider, causing Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) to drink on New Year's Eve, which led to her kissing Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan), and thus blowing up her marriage to Ridge Forrester, per Soaps.com.

She needed to confront Sheila right away and did so in a back alley outside Il Giordano, the Italian restaurant most characters on the show frequent. That's when Sheila, one of the craziest characters to ever grace soap operas, pulled out a gun and was ready to shoot. Right at that moment, Steffy's husband John 'Finn' Finnegan, came running onto the scene out of nowhere and the bullet landed in his chest rather than Steffy's, per Soap Hub, stunning the "B&B" fandom who had grown to love Steffy with another man who was not Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), the man Steffy obsessed over for years. What made the moment even more mind-boggling was that Finn was Sheila's son, meaning this character who has been raining terror on CBS soaps since the 1990s, shot her own son.

Finn's fate remained in question

When Finn went down in a pile of trash bags with blood everywhere in true Friday cliffhanger style that soaps seemed to move away from in recent years, fans wondered about his fate over the weekend, with one fan tweeting, "Nooo Finn. Is he dead? I'm about to fight Bell forreal. Are you kidding me? If they kill Finn and put Steffy back in that ridiculous triangle I'm done."

Then, something more shocking happened when Monday's show began. Steffy tried to call an ambulance for help, but Sheila wouldn't allow it. Instead, she shot Steffy straight in the chest, as well, with husband and wife laying there bloodied and unconscious. Were they dead or alive? As Monday's show closed, fans still didn't know the answer to the question they asked themselves on Friday about Finn. Soon, Deacon, who works at the restaurant, came out back to take out the garbage and stumbled upon the scene. He immediately called for help, as Sheila would not allow Steffy to do, per Soaps.com, and on Tuesday, fans seemed to have their answer as Steffy was taken to the hospital still alive and the ambulance wheeled Finn away with a blanket covering his face and body, signaling that he was dead, via Soap Hub.

Sheila mourns her son, Steffy hangs on

While it made very little sense that Sheila would not want Steffy to get help for the son she gave up for adoption and was finally getting to know, she clearly wanted to cover her tracks as she stole Steffy and Finn's wallets and jewelry before making a retreat. If she made it look like a robbery or mugging, nobody would suspect her, according to Soaps.com. When Deacon told her about her son's death, she acted like she had no idea he had even been shot, but she had to compose herself when he arrived as she was nothing but a maniacal puddle of tears just minutes earlier.

Meanwhile, Steffy remains in a coma in critical condition having no idea her husband is gone. Is this just one long April Fool's joke or did "The Bold and the Beautiful" really kill off Steffy's loving husband. As this is a soap, anything can happen, and producer Casey Kasprzyk did say earlier this year that something would happen to change the soap forever and, as of this writing, it looks like Finn's death is it.
