Source Close To Kourtney Kardashian And Travis Barker Explains Why They're 'Praying For A Miracle'
An engagement, a marriage, and now a baby? That is, apparently, the plan for Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, who tied the knot after this month's Grammy Awards (even though the Las Vegas wedding wasn't legally binding).
However, both celebrities already have kiddos of their own. Kourtney shares three children with Scott Disick, whom she dated between 2006 and 2015: son Mason, born in 2009; daughter Penelope, born in 2012; and son Reign, born in 2014 (via Life & Style). Barker, who proposed to the reality star in October 2021, has a son, Landon, and a daughter, Alabama, with his ex-wife, Shanna Moakler. As stated by PopSugar, he also is a co-parent of Atiana, the daughter of Moakler and boxer Oscar De La Hoya.
Over the years, many — including fans and members of this famous family — wondered if Kourtney and Disick would have more children together, and it was a topic that was even discussed on several episodes of their hit reality series, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
The subject of Kourtney Kardashian having more kids is one that has been discussed for years
As the Kardashian-Jenner with one of the largest broods (second only to sister Kim), it's not uncommon for the topic of Kourtney Kardashian having more children to come up on the family's various shows and spin-offs. One such scene from "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" Season 15 showed Kim Kardashian chatting about the matter with her former friend, Larsa Pippen. In the conversation, Kim tells her pal that Scott Disick had texted her expressing his desire to have another child with her sister. "I think he just wants one more, and she wants one more," she said (via Youtube).
Kim then suggested taking the IVF route, since, at the time, Kourtney was dating Younes Bendjima and Disick was with Sofia Richie. "I mean, I would want all my four kids with the same person. When I got pregnant with North, I had no idea if Kanye and I were going to end up together. I was like, 'We can break up, but let me just at least have some sperm, so I can have another one so I could have siblings,'" the star added.
And, as reported by Us Weekly, both Kourtney and Scott even joked on the show that they were going to have a fourth child together.
Kourtney Kardashian has also spoken out about freezing her eggs
Another topic that has been touched upon by Kourtney Kardashian on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" is freezing her eggs, as mentioned by Refinery29. She even discussed it on a deeper level last year, when appearing on the ellentube show "Lady Parts."
"I really got talked into it," she said. "I was like okay, whatever, I'll do it one time. Since everyone else is doing it, I might as well."
Host Sarah Hyland asked her if the decision took away some of the pressure to immediately have more kids. "I think it gave me a feeling of, like, taking a deep breath," Kourtney responded. "You know, I was 39, and I was about to turn 40, and everyone was like, 'If you're going to do it, you gotta do it now' ... So I just think doing that and having the control over my body, it just gave me peace of mind."
Fast forward to now, and the star's circumstances have changed drastically, especially — as we all know — in the romance department.
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are 'hoping to have a child together'
The trailer for "The Kardashians" provided some new information about Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's relationship. The promo for their new Hulu show revealed that the couple is trying to conceive through in vitro fertilization (IVF).
"She feels like she's almost at the cut-off age of having kids, so this is almost like her last chance," an insider told Us Weekly. "They're very committed to each other and raising their kids as a blended family but are hoping to have a child together."
Already, fans have been wondering if these two are expecting a child together. In December, a fan commented on an Instagram photo of Kourtney in a swimsuit asking if she was pregnant. The reality star replied, "Are we really going to do this every time I post a photo?" At the Grammys, many viewers speculated that Kourtney was sporting a baby bump. After that, Barker's daughter Alabama went live on TikTok at what some guessed was a gender reveal party, per The Sun.
Although rumors already abound of a brand new Kardashian family member, the Us Weekly source claims the pair is still "praying for a miracle."
