How Kate Middleton Subtly Honored Princess Diana At The Queen's Trooping The Colour

If only we could all have a birthday celebration as extravagant as the queen's. According to the royal family's website, the Trooping the Colour occurs annually to celebrate the queen's official birthday. This event is a huge gathering of horses, soldiers, and musical artists with a throng of people enjoying the parade. The queen arrives in a carriage, and countless fans eagerly await her entrance.

The queen eventually heads to Buckingham Palace and the royal family gathers on the balcony as the event continues with a presentation from the Royal Air Force and a 41-gun salute.  Even if they can't see the spectacle in person, many royal family fans tune in to watch the Trooping the Colour from their homes to get a taste of the celebration.

Making an appearance at this year's Trooping the Colour, Kate Middleton blew everyone away in a stunning white ensemble to honor the queen. Us Weekly noted that Kate sat next to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and that her look paid tribute to the late Princess Diana.

She wore Princess Diana's earrings

According to Us Weekly, Kate Middleton honored the late Princess Diana by wearing diamond and sapphire earrings that previously belonged to her. The earrings have a dangly design but are not super long and give off a sparkly appearance, adding a touch of glamour to her outfit.

Princess Diana was a jewelry-loving icon and wore a plethora of stunning accessories; this Trooping the Colour wasn't the first time that Kate donned one of Diana's jewelry pieces. According to Town & Country, one of the many other times Middleton wore one of her late mother-in-law's jewelry items was when she wore Princess Diana's beloved diamond and pearl earrings to the BAFTAs back in 2019. Plus, she even has the late princess' engagement ring!

Princess Diana was a widely-admired royal woman for her warm personality, beautiful accessories, and sense of style, and it seems that her daughter-in-law is following in her footsteps in many ways.
