According to the royal family's website, the Trooping the Colour occurs annually to celebrate the queen's official birthday. This event is a huge gathering of horses, soldiers, and musical artists with a throng of people enjoying the parade. The queen arrives in a carriage, and countless fans eagerly await her entrance.
The queen eventually heads to Buckingham Palace and the royal family gathers on the balcony as the event continues with a presentation from the Royal Air Force and a 41-gun salute. Even if they can't see the spectacle in person, many royal family fans tune in to watch the Trooping the Colour from their homes to get a taste of the celebration.
Making an appearance at this year's Trooping the Colour, Kate Middleton blew everyone away in a stunning white ensemble to honor the queen. Us Weekly noted that Kate sat next to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and that her look paid tribute to the late Princess Diana.
