Piers Morgan Has Fans Fuming After Comparing Meghan Markle To A Controversial Actress

There is no love lost between Piers Morgan and Meghan Markle. After essentially calling Markle's Oprah Winfrey interview claims about depression and self-harm baloney on his U.K. talk show, "Good Morning Britain," the controversial star left the program as viewers revolted (via The Hollywood Reporter).
Morgan was eventually cleared of wrongdoing, with media regulator Ofcom noting in a statement, "Mr. Morgan's comments were potentially harmful and offensive to viewers, and we recognize the strong public reaction to them. But we also took full account of freedom of expression."
Still, the damage was done, with public opinion turning against him and Deadline reporting Ofcom received more complaints about the host than anything else in 2021. Not that Morgan changed his tune. The star stood firm on his opinion of Markle following his parting of ways with "Good Morning Britain," tweeting that freedom of speech was a hill he was "happy to die on" (via BBC).
Piers Morgan has not backed off when it comes to Meghan Markle
In subsequent tweets, Piers Morgan has continued to bash the Duchess of Sussex, noting in November of 2021, "I've now had 8 months to carefully reflect on my statement that I don't believe a word Meghan Markle says.... .... and I still don't."
Flash forward to present day, and the TV host is still questioning whether the royal is telling the truth. But now, he's going after another celebrity on Twitter by comparing her to Markle.
"Amber Heard is like Meghan Markle – the more she whines & plays the victim, utilising her best acting skills, the less I believe her," he tweeted about the actress who accused Johnny Depp of abuse in a very public defamation trial that she ultimately lost (via Insider).
Morgan also made similar comments comparing the women on his "TalkTV Uncensored" program (via The News). And now, once again the British personality has found himself in hot water over his words.
People aren't happy that Piers Morgan is coming for another famous woman
After Piers Morgan lambasted Amber Heard by likening her behavior during her testimony against Johnny Depp to that of another woman he has made it clear he detests, Twitter was not having it.
"Give it a rest," implored one Twitter user in response to the star's accusation that Heard was whining and "playing the victim," like Meghan Markle has in his view. Someone else called him "obsessed." Yet another person tweeted that Morgan should leave women alone, while yet another follower called his comments "dangerous." The Twitter user went on to caution, "This is really unhelpful for abuse victims. Some people speak out again and again and are never believed."
Finally, an individual threw Morgan's words from the past back at him, recalling his belief in freedom of speech. And ultimately, folks questioned the comparison between Markle and Heard, with someone accusing the TV host of using the former's name just to get attention.
