Julie And Todd Chrisley Have An Emotional Message For Son Grayson
"Chrisley Knows Best" fans were shocked when Todd and Julie Chrisley were found guilty on all counts of bank and tax fraud in federal court. The couple had been accused of fraudulently obtaining $30 million in bank loans, and then filing for bankruptcy so that they wouldn't have to pay more than $20 million in debt. "They made up documents and they lie through their teeth to get whatever they want, whenever they want it," Assistant U.S. Attorney Annalise Peters said during the trial, per Insider.
As a result of their conviction, Todd and Julie are facing up to 30 years in prison. They plan to appeal the verdict, but in the meantime, the Chrisleys opened up about what their lives have been like post-conviction. In a recent episode of the podcast "Chrisley Confessions," the couple spoke about how their social lives are being impacted by their public legal battle. "This is a telling time for us as a family," Julie revealed. "Of people who have reached out, and of people who haven't reached out."
Todd added: "We've dealt with so much negative press here lately, and we've had negative press before, but not like we've had here since the verdict."
And it's not just Todd and Julie who are impacted by the attention. The Chrisley children are also dealing with the fallout from the verdict, and it's been especially hard for their youngest son, Grayson.
Todd and Julie Chrisley want Grayson to ignore the hate
The Chrisley family is going through a tough time as Todd and Julie await sentencing after their conviction in federal court. While they have received thousands of messages of support from fans since the verdict, they have also been hit with their fair share of negative press and social media hate. And Todd and Julie are doing their best to protect their youngest son, Grayson, from all of it.
"Grayson is the sweetest child and has the most tender heart," Todd said during a recent episode of "Chrisley Confessions" entitled "Morning Prayer, God's Promise, and It's Not Going to Rain Forever." "When you have someone that has a heart like Grayson in a world like where we live right now, you have to be very careful with someone that is that sensitive. Because the world doesn't care if his feelings are hurt."
Todd and Julie have instructed their son not to pay attention to the opinions made by strangers, and instead be secure in who he is as a person so that he can brush off any negative messages.
The Chrisleys were quick to point out that they've also received a lot of love from fans, including flowers sent to their home. But as Todd revealed, there is something else they'd rather receive. "Really, the best gift that you can give us is prayer," he said. "Our family, we're all doing as well as can be as expected during this and this storm that we're going through."
