Dream Home Makeover's Shea McGee Reveals The Baby Items She Couldn't Live Without

Shea McGee is known for her good taste. The star of "Dream Home Makeover" on Netflix has created a following, and career, solely on her exceptional design skills and ability to know what's "in," per PopSugar. Shea and her husband, Syd, own an interior design firm, Studio McGee, they also have a collection in Target — that according to My Domain, sold out instantly.

Her good taste has also turned her into quite the influencer. The Instagram account for Studio McGee has over 3 million followers and features not just their design skills, but snippets of her personal life as well. In July 2021, Shea and Syd announced their third child together, a baby girl named Margot, via Today, who joined their other two daughters, Wren and Ivy. Their oldest daughter, Wren, was born in 2013, and Ivy, their middle child was born in 2016, so it's been a hot minute since Shea and Syd shopped for baby gear. As they started the process over, the parents of three shared the top baby items that they can't live without.

Shea McGee's must-haves for baby number three

Shea McGee spoke with Architectural Digest during her third pregnancy, telling the publication that it has been so long since her other children were born that she is basically starting over when it comes to products. While slightly troublesome for the interior designer — she mentioned that she threw out all her baby items after her second — it allowed her to learn what new items were must-haves for the new baby.

Some of the items the couple bought were used the first time around and Shea loved them so much that she bought them again. This included the Nuna Pipa Infant Car Seat, a sleek car seat that allows for both style and safety. She paired it with the Nuna Tavo Next Stroller, which can be used until new baby Margot is well into her toddler years.

Shea also recommends the Lalo High Chair, which she loves for its design and functionality. When it comes to feedings, she recommends the Babylist Bottle Box, per  Architectural Digest. It allows you to try a few different bottle types to find the right one for your baby without spending a ton, and the Baby Brezza, which she refers to as a "must for busy parents." Other recommended products include the Boon Cacti 4 Piece Bottle Brush Set, the Yogasleep Dohm Classic Sound Machine, and the Little Unicorn Cotton Muslin Sleep Bag.

Shea has released her own line of kids decor

While searching for the best new items for baby number 3, Shea realized there was a hole in the baby product industry. "I saw that [the industry] was missing the more timeless pieces that can grow with your child," she told Architectural Digest. So, she decided to create her own collection, launching McGee & Co. Kids Collection.

Her line is full of gorgeous, timeless pieces that yes, will stand up to your kids. In fact, she even encourages them to jump on the beds. You can find everything from wall decor with animal silhouettes, chic chalkboards, and sketches to furniture for every area of their room. We are fawning over this kids gingham chair, which would be great for a nursery or big kid room, paired with this gorgeous crib or twin bed. "When we created the collection, we focused on pieces that were really intentional, and often neutral, but still spoke to the playfulness of a kid's space," she told Architectural Digest. And her youngest may have the trendiest space yet with a mauve and moss green color scheme.
