The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project Season 2: Details We Know So Far
Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent are the definition of mixing business with pleasure. The couple met through mutual friend Rachel Zoe, and both men knew they had found true love immediately. Nine months later, they got engaged while scaling the infamous Machu Picchu with friends, according to US Weekly, and became the first same-sex couple to wed at the New York Public Library in 2014, per ABC News.
While both appeared separately on television to showcase their interior design skills, they decided to join forces on "Nate & Jeremiah By Design," helping homeowners sort through the clutter and remodel their houses to create stunning spaces. While the show does spotlight their superb design skills, it also gives a glimpse into their home life, which includes their two children, daughter Poppy and son Oskar.
The married pair later debuted their second HGTV series together, "The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project," in 2021. The series was a huge success, attracting an impressive 13.4 million viewers. So, can fans expect a second season?
The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project Season 2 release date
HGTV announced in April 2022 that they had renewed "The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project" for a second season, which will premiere in the spring of 2023. Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent will once again be helping overwhelmed homeowners go through their cluttered homes and using some of the sentimental pieces to redesign the houses, giving each family a fresh start.
"We can all relate to accumulating too much stuff," Loren Ruch, group senior vice president, programming and development, HGTV, said in a press release. "Nate and Jeremiah show us how we can sift through the clutter to save only our most treasured possessions and then incorporate them into transformative design, so this is a concept that resonates with our audience."
The second season, which will feature eight episodes, will once again be produced by Scott Brothers Entertainment, which is owned by Drew Scott and Jonathan Scott.
The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project Season 2 cast
Although we know Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent will be starring in the new season (via HGTV), there haven't been any new casting calls put out yet for Season 2. Before the first season premiered, the producers of "The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project" were looking for homeowners in the Los Angeles area with a budget of at least $35,000 that would allow Berkus and Brent to work on one to two rooms. Although there are no major renovations, residents are still required to leave their homes in 48 hours while the couple works their magic. Luckily, the production company does put the families up in an Airbnb, according to Distractify.
While it's not cheap to have the design duo work on your home, Brent revealed that they do try to find affordable ways to transform a space, including shopping for décor items at bargain stores like TJ Maxx. "Not only as designers, but as creatives, we're all about the importance of creating that super chic space that feels like a million bucks without having to spend a million bucks," Brent told People.
What else is there to know about The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project Season 2
Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent were thrilled when HGTV announced that their show "The Nate & Jeremiah Home Project" had been renewed for another season. Brent posted on Instagram a black and white photo of the couple with the caption, "Season 2, we're coming for you!!"
The couple not only enjoy helping out the homeowners featured on the HGTV show, but they love working together. "My mother told me it would have been her worst nightmare," Berkus told Heavy. "For us, both of us just love design. And so, you know, we love furniture, we love history. We love traveling ... We love the fine arts like we love transforming spaces and meeting all these people. So for us, it's randomly like one area that we don't fight about."
Brent agreed, explaining to Showbiz Cheat Sheet that while his husband can definitely be "annoying," Berkus is his "best friend. I love him madly. We love creating. I mean sometimes I'm like, I'm tired of hearing your voice [laughs]. But we love it. And we both get to do what we love."
