For Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa, it was love at first sight. After meeting on Tarek's boat in July 2019, the couple hit it off instantly and began dating. Just four days after that first date, they moved in together, per Brides. Many may think they were moving too fast, but one year later, they made things official, getting engaged and jetting off to Cabo to celebrate (via Us Weekly).

In October 2021, the couple once again proved to the world that they were made for each other, tying the knot in Montecito, California. Since then, they have honeymooned in the Maldives and Dubai, bought land to build a dream mountain home, continued filming their respective shows, and expressed their mutual desire to have children. In December 2021, Heather revealed the pair would be undergoing IVF treatments. Not long after she posted a Tiktok about her ultrasound to check on her follicle numbers, the couple would be surprised with some pretty great news.

Tarek and Heather Rae are expecting their first child

Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa, who recently celebrated three years since meeting, announced to People that they are expecting their first baby. The pair was undergoing IVF treatments and planning to have an embryo implanted next fall when the surprising news came. Heather told the publication that while the news was a huge shock, they feel this is meant to be and are so excited.

"I think when you least expect it and there's no stress in your life, the world just brought us what was meant to be," Heather told People. "I'm so excited that it happened like this."

Tarek already has two older children, Taylor and Brayden, with ex-wife Christina Hall. The baby will be the first child for Heather Rae. And while the couple is super excited to announce their pregnancy, they weren't originally planning to have children together. According to People, Heather was happy being a "bonus mom" to Taylor and Brayden, but as she got closer and closer with Tarek, she felt a desire to have a child with him. Baby El Moussa is expected early 2023 and in the meantime, the two real estate pros will spend their time searching for a kid-friendly home.

Heather Rae surprised Tarek with the news in a cute way

Tarek El Moussa had something of a premonition the day he and Heather Rae found out they were pregnant. According to People, he had a busy day full of Zoom meetings when he had a sudden urge to tell Heather to take a pregnancy test. She obliged, taking two tests that turned up inconclusive. She took a third test, forgetting about it while she completed chores around the house, only to return to it later and see those two pink lines. "I took two more tests. Right away, [they said] pregnant," she told People.

After finding out, she resisted the urge to send an excited text to her husband and instead buried the positive tests in a box filled with confetti and a onesie. He initially thought the tests were for COVID, but the confusion turned to elation as he put the pieces together.

"I started tearing up because it was such a moment of excitement and relief. He was so happy," Heather told People. "We hugged and embraced each other and kissed."

Thrilled for you all!" Anstead was married to Christina Hall for less than two years and together, they share a 2-year-old son. Before marrying Anstead, Christina was married to Tarek for seven years, sharing two children together. While this specific congratulations may seem strange, the two ex-husbands are actually friends, according to Us Weekly, and share a healthy relationship despite their murky past.

The couple is focusing on enjoying this special time together

Tarek El Moussa is no stranger to pregnancy and parenthood. In fact, Heather Rae told Today that seeing Tarek with his two children changed her mind about having kids of her own. "When Tarek and I started dating, I told him, 'As much as I love Taylor and Brayden, I'm not going to have children of my own,'" she told the morning show. "But seeing Tarek as a dad completely changed my mind about everything. He's obsessed with them."

As for Heather, her first pregnancy has brought along some changes, including those to her body. Her growing belly and clothes not fitting has been an adjustment, per People, but Heather Rae says that Tarek has helped her come to terms with it. She told the publication that "he's just been so positive and making me feel so beautiful and special."

According to the shirts on Tarek's children in their announcement photo, the baby is due in January and they will find out the sex in a few weeks.
