General Hospital Star Réal Andrews Drops A Big Hint About Trina's Paternity
Trina Robinson was introduced on "General Hospital" in 2017 as Josslyn Jacks' (Eden McCoy) best friend and the daughter of Marcus Taggert, played by "GH" alum Réal Andrews. In 2022, Tabyana Ali took over the role from Sydney Mikayla who left the show to pursue other acting opportunities.
Ali joined the soap when her character was smack dab in the middle of a huge storyline. Her friends Josslyn and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) were the victims of a revenge porn scandal and had their first intimate moments together filmed and released to the public. Though the crime was committed by nefarious rich girl Esme Prince (Avery Pohl), Trina was framed as the culprit. After a difficult criminal trial and tireless work from all of her loved ones, the charges against her were finally dropped (via SoapHub).
Two of Trina's biggest champions during this ordeal were her mother Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Portia's boyfriend Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). Curtis' determination to prove Trina's innocence has reminded viewers of something Portia said nearly a year ago that suggested she was hiding something about Trina's paternity (via Geeks). A recent social media post from Andrews has only furthered fans' suspicions.
Some fans suspect Curtis Ashford is Trina Robinson's biological father
Back in September 2021, Portia Robinson and police commissioner Jordan Ashford (then played by Briana Nicole Henry) were working with Jordan's ex-husband and Portia's new boyfriend Curtis Ashford on an investigation when the two women found themselves trapped in a basement during a gas leak (via Soaps in Depth). Fearing for her life, Portia held an unconscious Jordan and tearfully proclaimed that she couldn't die without telling her daughter the truth about her father. Viewers were already privy to the fact that Portia had an affair with Curtis years earlier when she was married to Marcus Taggert, leading many to believe that he is the one who fathered Trina Robinson.
On August 17, 2022 Réal Andrews posted a behind-the-scenes photo from the "General Hospital" set on Instagram of himself with Tabyana Ali and Donnell Turner. He captioned the photo, "Who is Trina's real dad...??? Taggert or Curtis." Knowing that Trina's paternity is in question and that Portia has been extremely interested in the Ashford family medical history, this post seemed to confirm to fans that Curtis is Trina's father. Now we just have to wait and see how the soap decides to drop this bombshell.
Hopefully, they'll let Trina recover from her trial before they upend her life once again!
