Experience

Layla has been writing for five years. She began writing music reviews as a freelancer for her undergraduate newspaper, The DePauw, and would later hold the title of editor-in-chief by her senior year. Since then, Layla has continued reporting on arts and culture, entertainment, and local and national news coverage. Her reporting has appeared in Block Club Chicago, Chicago Sun-Times, and South Side Weekly.

Education

Layla has a Master of Science in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing and Studio Art.
