All The Celebrities Who Have Worn A Vera Wang Wedding Dress

According to Harper's Bazaar UK, designer Vera Wang has essentially changed what brides want to walk down the aisle wearing for eternity. Her vision for how a woman should look on her big day was born from personal experience, with the iconic fashion maven explaining to Page Six, "It really wasn't until I got engaged at the ripe old age of 39 that I realized there was very little out there."

Wang would go on to seek to infuse the bridal gown market with fashion, inviting brides everywhere "to explore their own creativity," as well as consider their individuality. After all, we all have our body types and style, as well as how we envision celebrating our weddings.

"I like to think that we really gave women permission to experiment and to be free," she told Harper's Bazaar.

Here, we look at nine celebrity brides whose idea of experimentation and freedom was wearing Wang on their wedding days.

Gwen Stefani

One Vera Wang wedding dress wasn't enough for Gwen Stefani when she said "I do" to Blake Shelton in July of 2021. The mega-talent donned two of the designer's gowns — one long, flowy confection of a dress for the ceremony and a very Gwen-like, short party dress for the reception (via People and Instagram).

About the looks, which Stefani paired with cowgirl boots, Wang told Page Six, "There was this kind of charm and this kind of cool and a little bit of a Western vibe." She added the gowns were "perfect for them."

Ariana Grande

Singer Ariana Grande may have gotten married at home in May of 2021, but she still just had to wear Wang. According to Vogue, the elegant look Grande achieved channeled Audrey Hepburn and was the result of a pact the star made with the designer years earlier at the Met Gala, with Wang promising Grande that she'd create a gown for her to wear on her big day (via Instagram).

"It's more of a '30s kind of vibe; it's narrow, it's bias [-cut], and I think there's a certain grace and sensuality to that kind of shape," Wang told Page Six about her design for the star.

Ivanka Trump

Ivanka Trump was not the only former first daughter to wear Vera Wang at her wedding — more on that in a moment. For now, feast your eyes upon the gorgeous custom gown the former advisor to President Donald Trump sported for her 2009 nuptials to Jared Kushner. The lace cloud of a dress was said to be inspired by Grace Kelly (via Glamour).

Chelsea Clinton

Like Ivanka Trump, former first daughter Chelsea Clinton opted to wear a wedding gown designed by Vera Wang when she married Marc Mezvinsky in 2010. The Knot described the dress as consisting of raw-edged laser cut organza swirls with a crystal-encrusted belt. To be sure, the result was definitely a wow factor.

Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams waited an excruciating two years to say "I do" due to COVID-related setbacks according to the Los Angeles Times. When the actress finally got her chance to pledge to honor and love her beau for a lifetime, she wore Vera Wang, naturally. In fact, like Gwen Stefani, the "Modern Family" star deservedly donned two gowns for her special day, both by the wedding dress designer extraordinaire (via The Knot and Instagram).

Hailey Bieber

In true celebrity fashion, fashionista Hailey Bieber chose three different dresses to marry her forever, Justin, in South Carolina. For her final look of the three designer dresses, the model donned sneakers (we love you for that Hailey!) and a buttery white silk Vera Wang gown, custom made for her (via Teen Vogue and Instagram).

Issa Rae

Can you ever go wrong with a Vera Wang ball gown for your wedding? No, but especially if you are "Insecure" actress Issa Rae, who chose a princessy lace dress and a chapel-length veil by the iconic designer for her 2021 wedding to businessman Louis Diame. The dress looked even more magical given where Rae and Diame said "I do" in a jaw-droppingly beautiful locale in the South of France (via Vogue and Instagram).

Victoria Beckham

The former Spice Girl was one of the first mega-stars to wear Vera Wang for her 1999 nuptials to soccer heartthrob David Beckham (other than Mariah Carey, who wore Vera Wang in 1993 for her wedding to Tommy Mottola). About the gorgeous gown, Victoria Beckham told the Independent it was "super simple," adding about her aesthetic, "every time... Very, very simple."

Khloé Kardashian

In 2008, reality superstar Khloé Kardashian wed Lamar Odom on TV in front of an estimated 3 million people and wore Vera Wang (via E! News and Hello!). Her reasoning for why she selected the gown accented with a purple sash was pretty straightforward, with the Good American founder noting, "I feel like when you think of weddings, you think of Vera Wang."

Clearly Kardashian is far from alone in Hollywood on that sentiment!
