Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth Says Baby No. 3 Will Honor Close Family Member

Years after her family's reality shows went off the air, Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth is still a favorite among fans of the "19 Kids & Counting" franchise. Although she hasn't gone into book-writing like her sister Jinger Duggar Vuolo, Joy maintains more than a million followers on Instagram and nearly 175,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel, "Follow the Forsyths."

Joy sometimes makes her fans jittery with videos that reveal some lax attitudes toward safety, such as leaving a hunting rifle lying in the living room where her son was playing (via The U.S. Sun) or positioning their TV on a kitchen counter with the cords dangling within easy reach of little hands.

But she also endears herself to fellow moms when she divulges her relatable parenting struggles. In her most recent YouTube vlog, Joy confessed that the hardest thing about parenting is patience. "I literally never saw my mother get upset," she said, recalling how Michelle Duggar managed to keep her cool even as she raised a houseful of 19 children.

The video also included a surprising reveal. Joy and her husband, Austin Forsyth, are expecting a third child in May 2023, a little brother to 4-year-old Gideon and 2-year-old Evelyn Mae. (One of her sisters-in-law, Katey Nakatsu Duggar, just announced that she and Jedidiah are having their second baby at almost exactly the same time, per Us Weekly.)

Joy told viewers that she hasn't yet started researching baby names in-depth, but part of their son's name has already been decided.

Joy Forsyth's second son's name will honor Austin's grandfather

Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth revealed her new baby's gender in November 2022, and she and her husband are now considering names.

"Just to give you guys a little sneak peek, we're definitely using James as either the first name or the middle name," she revealed in her latest YouTube vlog. "Austin's Papaw passed away a few years ago, and [Austin] told him before he passed that our next boy would have James in it...so we're going to have James mixed in there somewhere." Joy added that they're also debating using the grandfather's full name: Edwin James Forsyth.

Fans had plenty of thoughts on the subject. "Using James as a middle or first name is so sweet and special to Austin and his family," said one, adding, "You guys should pick a name that's related to God." Another suggested, "Gabriel would be a great name to go along with Gideon," and a third remarked that James was an important name in her own family.

Commenters on the Reddit DuggarsSnark channel — a forum that pokes fun at the Duggars — had their own take, noting that Joy didn't mention honoring her own father, Jim Bob, or her younger brother James. "Not even because of her dad. I love that for JB," a Redditor said. Mused another, "I'd like to know if Joy and Austin agreed privately first, or if Austin just...unilaterally decided and [blurted] it out."

Whatever the final decision, it probably won't be the name big sister Evelyn wants: "Brother."
