If we had to name one specific person that influences Gen Z, we'd likely land on Hailey Bieber. The skincare guru, model, and of course, wife to Justin Bieber is constantly starting trends, from her brushed up brow look to her slicked back buns and, most recently, her short chop. Even the smallest changes to her beauty routine are turning heads. Recently, Bieber took her glazed skincare look to her nails, creating a chrome manicure that had people running to the salon to recreate. When she appeared at the Met Gala sporting this donut manicure, it quickly became the hot new trend.

Now, that trend has taken things a step further by adding a pink hue to the popular glazed donut look. Bieber's own nail artist recently shared how to get strawberry glazed nails, a little spin on the traditional that adds a hint of pink for something a bit more girly and fun. If you are hoping to achieve this look, here's what you'll want to ask your nail artist for when you get to the salon.

How to ask for strawberry glazed nails

You may be prepared to go in and tell your nail artist you want Hailey Bieber nails, but unfortunately, this may not always go over so well. If you are hoping to achieve a strawberry glazed nail, it's important to be prepared and know what to ask for before sitting down at the salon chair.

Zola Ganzorigt, who owns Nails by Zola and is known to do a ton of celeb manicures, including Hailey Bieber, was nice enough to let us in on her secret to achieving the strawberry glazed look. In a recent Instagram Reel, her tutorial shows her starting with a gel base coat before adding a shiny gel top coat and then putting on a light pink color (in this case, she used OPI Funny Bunny, but any light pink color should work). She then goes over the entire nail with OPI Chrome effects in Tin Man Can, which is what gives the nails that glazed look, before brushing it all evenly out. According to Byrdie, it's that chrome effect that really makes the nails what they are, so be sure your salon carries something similar before heading in.

How to get the glazed nail look at home

If you are more into DIY-ing your manicure at home, achieving the strawberry glazed nail is easier than you may think. According to nail artist Steph Stone, via Allure, the look can be achieved by layering different polishes, meaning you don't have to be well-versed in the chrome technique or even have the chrome powder at your disposal. Instead, she suggests starting with the Essie Gel Couture polish in Sheer Fantasy followed by a top coat of Essie Expressie FX Collection in the shade Iced Out and another coat of the Sheer Fantasy before finishing it off with a glossy topcoat.

Celebrity nail artist Sonya Belakhlef recommends doing any at-home manicures that use these glossy colors slowly and carefully as the shimmery shades can be harder to apply than regular colors. And if you want something more edgy than the strawberry glazed nail, there are other alternatives, including chocolate glazed look, which Bieber debuted on her TikTok back in the fall, or even pumpkin glazed donut nails, which is a trendier option great for any time of the year.
