All The Times Taylor Hayes Was Presumed Dead On The Bold And The Beautiful

Taylor Hayes has had quite a few adventures on "The Bold and the Beautiful," including being presumed dead a few times. Actress Hunter Tylo played Taylor from 1990 to 2019, and in 2021 the part was recast with Krista Allen. She was famously part of a love triangle with Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester (first Ronn Moss, later Thorsten Kaye), and the two women stunned fans when they dumped Ridge together. In 2018, Taylor believed Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) had wronged her daughter Steffy Forrester (Jaqueline MacInnes Wood), and shot him.

Bill used Taylor's actions as leverage to blackmail Steffy and her husband Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) into not testifying against Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) for shooting them previously. Taylor was distraught over this, and she contemplated turning herself in to the authorities to get Steffy out from under Bill's thumb. She wrote a confession that finished by saying she was going to end things, took some pills and went to bed. Brooke went to Taylor's home, found the note and an empty bottle of pills, and an unmoving Taylor on the bed. Brooke feared Taylor had died, and threw a cup of water on her head. A not-dead Taylor awoke, explaining that they were just sleeping pills and that she was going to "end things" by turning herself in.

This wasn't the first time Taylor was believed dead, though.

Taylor died in a plane crash

While Taylor was married to Ridge in 1994, she headed to the Middle East for a business trip. But the plane went down and she was believed to be dead because her baggage was recovered. Everyone had a funeral for her back home, but it turned out that after Taylor exited the plane during a layover, she was mugged in the airport, robbed of everything, and ended up with amnesia. When she woke up, she found herself at a palace belonging to Prince Omar Rashid (Kabir Bedi) of Morocco.

Although Taylor's identity was discovered, Omar had fallen in love with her and kept it a secret. He also learned that Ridge had married Brooke Logan, thinking Taylor was dead. Omar renamed her "Laila," and asked her to marry him. However, Taylor found a file about herself, causing her memories return, but she was now a prisoner of the Prince. After their marriage, Omar invited Brooke and Ridge to visit him and made Taylor secretly observe their happiness through a two-way mirror in a soundproof room.

Jack Hamilton (Chris Robinson), Taylor's father, had a heart attack, so the Prince reluctantly let her visit him, surprising everyone that she was alive. Omar had secretly followed her and saw she was taking care of Ridge, who was blinded in an accident. Although he insisted that Taylor was his wife, a court decided that she was still married to Ridge, so Omar unwillingly went back home to Morocco.

Sheila shoots Taylor

In 2002, Taylor Hayes walked into the Forrester mansion and found Sheila Carter holding a gun on Eric Forrester (John McCook). Because she was a psychiatrist, Taylor tried to use her skills to reason with Sheila and talk her into giving her the gun. Unfortunately, Brooke Logan unwittingly walked onto the scene, surprising Sheila. Taylor leapt at the villain and the two struggled over the gun. Sadly, Taylor was shot, and when Eric then wrestled Sheila for the weapon, Brooke was also accidentally shot. Taylor seemed to have survived, but tragically died as Ridge was holding her.

It turned out Taylor had escaped death yet again, but was in a coma. Prince Omar returned and stole Taylor right out from under everyone's noses, planting a dummy that looked like her in the coffin at her funeral. Omar's doctors were able to nurse Taylor back to health. Eventually, one of the Prince's workers, a painter named Dante Damiano (Antonio Sabàto Jr.), managed to help Taylor escape from Omar's clutches. Ridge had seen Taylor as a ghost and believed she wasn't dead, so he dug up her coffin. Eventually, Taylor made her way back to him, and Omar left yet again.

Throughout the years, Taylor also survived almost being frozen to death, a house fire, and almost falling off a hospital roof, among other things. Hopefully, she won't have any more brushes with death for a while.
