The Hadid Sisters Live An Insanely Glamorous Life

The Hadid sisters, Gigi and Bella, are known for their insanely glamorous lifestyles. They strut down catwalks in Paris, party on yachts, date famous musicians, and grace the glossy covers of Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. And, while jet lag and long photo shoots can be exhausting, this gorgeous duo isn't exactly new to the glitz and glamour that comes along with being very well-paid models.

As children, the siblings roamed the halls of some of the most awe-worthy homes, from an idyllic farmhouse in Santa Barbara to a castle-like Beverly Hills mega-mansion, thanks to their mother, Dutch supermodel and former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Hadid, and father, Jordanian real estate tycoon Mohamed Hadid

The girls' silver-spoon upbringing was a source of insecurity for big sister Gigi as she made a name for herself in modeling. She admitted to Vogue Australia"I know I come from privilege, so when I started there was this big guilt of privilege, obviously." Still, since the start of Gigi and Bella's careers, the duo has worked hard to create their own success and live lives of their own design. Here's a glimpse into the insanely glamorous lives of the Hadid sisters.

The Hadid sisters epitomize glamour on and off runway

The Hadid sisters manage to look just as glamorous off the runway as they do on. Following one of their many runway appearances during Paris Fashion Week in early 2020, the model sisters were spotted strutting down the streets of Paris in neutral-colored ensembles — still dolled up in their runway hair and makeup, according to Vogue. Both women embraced chic menswear-inspired looks, with Bella donning a shoulder-padded jacket-with-pants number and Gigi with trousers and an oversized jacket. Always true fashionistas.

It's not unusual to see Gigi and Bella dressed to the nines. In fact, they're pretty much always well-dressed — even at the airport. When Gigi landed in a Milan airport in early 2020, she was spotted wearing a stylish yet comfy trench coat by the British brand Wolford, reported Elle. No matter what this duo chooses to wear, it's always sure to inspire fashion trends

The Hadid sisters are some of the highest-paid models in the industry

Hard work surely pays off for the Hadid sisters. Gigi and Bella Hadid have a combined net worth of $54 million to show for it, according to Celebrity Net Worth, and in 2018, they earned their places on Forbes' list of highest-paid models worldwide. Gigi came in seventh, earning $9.5 million that year alone while her sister  Bella ranked eighth with $8.5 million.

The women's brother, Anwar Hadid, is also in the modeling business and although he didn't make Forbes' list, he's doing quite okay for himself. Celebrity Net Worth estimates his net worth at $4 million. To say the Hadids have found success in the modeling world would be an understatement, but it's not just because of their millionaire mom and dad.

"I always wanted success for myself," Gigi Hadid told Variety. "I wanted to support myself. I wanted to get to a place where I could have creative freedom and start to have more power to shape my life." Thanks to modeling, Gigi's sister Bella was completely financially independent by the time she became an adult. "I paid for my own apartment. That wasn't because of my parents. I worked my a** off for two years," Bella revealed to InStyle.

This Hadid sister owns a glamorous apartment in New York City

Gigi Hadid takes the cake when it comes to living in style. In 2016, the model purchased a two-bedroom apartment in the trendy Noho area of New York City. She spent nearly $4 million on the urban pad, according to Forbes. The 2,085-square-foot apartment features large windows, high ceilings, and a state-of-the-art chef's kitchen.

A few years after purchasing her digs, the model's apartment was in the headlines once more. This time, though, it wasn't about the dwelling itself. In August 2019, the paparazzi caught Hannah Brown's Bachelorette finalist Tyler Cameron leaving the building, which, naturally, spawned rumors about Tyler Cameron and Gigi Hadid's relationship.

Intrusive paparazzi aside, the native Californian told Harper's Bazaar she enjoys city living. "My favorite places in New York are the South Street Seaport and any spot with a skyscraper-type view to look out over the city," she revealed. However, the $4 million apartment with its epic views wasn't the first place she called home in the city. She had actually moved to the Big Apple in 2015 with college and modeling in mind. Part of the move was featured on an episode of Bravo's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills back when her mom Yolanda Hadid was a show regular (via Bustle).

The Hadid sisters date big-time celebs

The Hadid sisters have been linked to some of music's biggest artists. Since Bella made a name for herself, her love life has included a few high-profile gentlemen, allegedly  including rapper Drake. But it's her on-again, off-again relationship with The Weeknd (aka Abel Tesfaye) that has made the most headlines. Bella and the Grammy award-winning artist reportedly started dating in 2015, according to E! News, and have since shared many glamorous birthday parties and red carpets together. The love birds reportedly split up in 2019 and, according to an E! News source, "distance" played a role in the breakup.

Throughout the years, Bella's sister Gigi has also been linked to famous musicians, including Australian pop star Cody Simpson, boy-band singer Joe Jonas, and former One Direction star Zayn Malik. According to Seventeen, the on-again, off-again couple split up in 2019, but got back together before long, with Gigi confirming the relationship status on Valentine's Day, posting a photo of Malik on Instagram with a caption reading "Hey Valentine Z." In September 2020, they welcomed a daughter into the world.

The Hadid sisters have friends in high places

Gigi and Bella Hadid have quite the glamorous inner circle. According to Page Six, the duo was spotted in late 2019 partying it up in Miami beach with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio and fellow model Kendall Jenner. As OK! magazine detailedthe group apparently hit the clubs and sunbathed on yachts.Of course, that's not the only time they've lived large.

Thanks to some of their other friends, they also manage to land world-class seats to some of sport's biggest events. In 2018, Gigi and Bella were seen cheering on friend and tennis pro Serena Williams at the U.S. Open quarter-finals, People reported.

While it appears the Hadid sisters have no trouble making friends, let alone friends in high places, Gigi revealed to Harper's Bazaar that fame helped her realize who her real friends are. "I've lost a lot of friends because I'll get busy for a short period of time, and they're not reaching out, but if I don't reach out, then it's like I've changed," she told Bazaar. But Gigi added that she's found peace having a tight-knit group of friends, which includes Taylor Swift and her sister Bella, whom she described as "so understanding of the demands of this job."

The Hadid sisters make cameos in music videos

The Hadid sisters have quite a number of impressive music videos under their belts, which include glamorous on-screen cameos with musician friends as well as current and past lovers. Gigi seems to be everyone's muse, according to MTV, appearing in several of her friend's music videos, like Calvin Harris' "How Deep Is Your Love" and Taylor Swift's star-studded "Bad Blood." In the latter, Gigi plays Slay-Z, who's part of a killer female crew that also features pop star Selena Gomez and legendary model Cindy Crawford, among others, all donning glamorous black ensembles.

Gigi is such a pro, she sat in the co-director's chair for DNCE's "Cake by the Ocean," E! News reported. The band was fronted by her then-boyfriend Joe Jonas. Jonas told People that the video was actually all Gigi's idea: "...And we were like f*** it, you should do the video, and she just ran with it." After making her directorial debut, Gigi went on to appear in the steamy "Pillowtalk" music video with Zayn Malik.

Gigi's sis Bella has quite the music video résumé too, as she appeared in The Weeknd's over six-minute-long music video for "In the Night" as well as, the music video for Jessie Jo Stark's "Down Your Drain," according to Refinery29.

Work takes the Hadid sisters to exotic locales

The Hadid sisters surely make us green with envy whenever we see their social feeds full of luxurious getaways, even if many are work-related. Gigi Hadid told Elle that she's "sometimes ... in a different country every day" — and in the name of modeling. An ad campaign for the Michael Kors fragrance Wonderlust took Gigi to the stunning Turks & Caicos islands, according to Vogue. There, she got a chance to swim in the crystal-clear ocean while wearing a lovely floral dress, as one naturally does.

Gigi also likes traveling on her off time. The model told Glamour that Tahiti is her "perfect vacation destination." She also admitted that she enjoys "trying new restaurants in new cities" when she's jet-setting around the world.

Bella Hadid has had plenty of overseas adventures herself, as Elle highlighted. Whether she's going skydiving in Dubai, taking the EuroStar to London, or simply traveling for work, she seems to always be on the move.

The Hadid sisters dine at the finest restaurants, but occasionally indulge on burgers

Knowing they're two of the most beautiful supermodels in the world, you might think the Hadid sisters are forced to subsist off a diet of salad and water, but you'd be wrong. Thanks to their genetics and an active lifestyle, Bella and Gigi are able to exercise their right as foodies. Both women have been spotted dining at the swanky, high-end restaurant Costes in Paris, France. However, they don't only eat the most expensive meals. In fact, if Bella is spending a night out in New York City, she told Harper's Bazaar she likes to "try new restaurants," adding that one of her fave places is "Socialista, a little jazz bar."

Bella's big sis Gigi told Cosmopolitan about her fave neighborhood breakfast spot, The Smile, where she typically orders scrambled eggs and sourdough toast — yes, she eats carbs. She also happens to be a big burger fan. She shared with the publication a personal motto that revolves around her fave meaty treat: "Eat clean to stay fit, have a burger to stay sane." I think we can all agree on that.

The Hadid sisters come from a privileged background

With Gigi and Bella's father Mohamed Hadid being a multimillionaire property developer and their mother Yolanda a former international supermodel, the Hadid sisters have lived a pretty charmed and glamorous life since birth. The girls were raised by their affluent immigrant parents on a Santa Barbara farm, where they grew up riding horses, according to Vogue. The duo occasionally shines a light on their childhood on Instagram, posting photos of their younger selves traveling and hanging out with the family's horses.

When their parents divorced in 2000, the Hadid siblings split their time between their parents' Los Angeles homes, which included their father's 35,000-square-foot mansion fit with a wine cellar and movie theater, according to Harper's Bazaar.

Despite their privileged background, Gigi Hadid has always maintained that she never wants to rely on her family's wealth as an adult. "I've always had this big work ethic, because my parents came from nothing and I worked hard to honour them," Gigi told Vogue.

Even the Hadid sisters' horses have glamorous lives

If you thought the Hadid sisters live glamorously, wait until you hear about their horses. Hadid matriarch Yolanda's Pennsylvania farm houses a variety of animals, including chickens, sheep, horses and mother-daughter miniature horses named Mamma and Muku, respectively, Bravo reported. Gigi Hadid told Elle that the farm is her refuge when life gets too hectic. The same goes for Bella, whose horse Blue lives on the family farm. She's often seen on Instagram posing with the model horse. "Me n my beautiful man few days ago," she captioned one photo of herself and her dapper horse, outfitted with a custom and ever-so chic saddle and matching leg wraps by Chrome Hearts, according to Vogue.

Horseback riding has long been a part of the Hadid sisters' lives. They grew up riding horses in California, Bella confirmed to Vogue. Bella was such a talented rider, in fact, she qualified for the Olympics equestrian competition, but ultimately pulled out because she contracted Lyme disease.

The Hadid sisters use their glamorous platforms to give back to others

The Hadid sisters aren't blinded by all the glamour surrounding them. In fact, Gigi and Bella Hadid make it a point to shine a light on global humanitarian issues. Gigi has traveled to countries like Senegal and Bangladesh to meet with women and children in need.

The model spoke with Variety about her experience meeting Bangladesh refugees during a trip organized by global nonprofit UNICEF in 2018, saying, "I think the most powerful part of meeting the refugees was their willingness and openness to learn how they could better their situation." As the publication further revealed, "Hadid went to Bangladesh on the one-year anniversary of the Rohingya people being forced to leave their homes to avoid religious persecution by the Myanmar army."

Gigi and Bella Hadid have spoken out about national issues as well. In 2017, the sisters marched in New York to push back against President Donald Trump's then-proposed travel ban. Gigi told Variety it was important that she speak out for immigrants like her parents.

The Hadid sisters travel in style

Though the Hadid sisters likely travel a lot more than we non-models do, they surely aren't stuck in coach. The duo occasionally shares glimpses into their glamorous rides on their social media accounts — but not all is filtered.

When Bella Hadid flew via a private jet, she shared an Instagram Story (via Bravo) showing her and her crew eating from pizza from cardboard boxes, reminding us that stars are just like us ... kind of. Bella has also taken private yachts around places like Monte Carlo, which isn't as relatable, but, you know, still pretty cool.

Although they do hit the water from time to time, the sisters travel by air far more often. So often by private jet, in fact, that Bella Hadid announced in an Instagram post that she donated trees to offset her carbon footprint. "Donating 600 trees to be planted, 20 for each flight I took these past 3 months and probably will continue for the rest of the year," the model captioned the late 2019 post. "It makes me sad how much my job [affects] my carbon footprint and of how brutally climate change is obviously effecting the world."

The Hadid sisters know how to throw a birthday party

The Hadid sisters go all out for their birthdays. To ring in her 21st birthday, Gigi flew out to Las Vegas with friends, celebrating the big milestone at one of Wynn's clubs, according to Harper's Bazaar. She spent the night dancing and drinking champagne and Belvedere vodka, which featured her name on the bottles, Cosmopolitan reported. For her 24th birthday, W Magazine revealed that Gigi threw an all-denim party at L'avenue in New York city's Saks Fifth Avenue. There were plenty of eats, including macarons, a cake shaped like the number 24, and even a French fries station.

Gigi's sister Bella is a little more lax on birthdays, but somehow makes even the most casual affairs glamorous. According to Harper's Bazaar, Bella celebrated her 23rd birthday at Color Me Mine, where she, her family, and famous friends — like pop star Dua Lipa — painted ceramics before brunch. Bella wore a sophisticated black ensemble, looking like a million bucks.

This Hadid sister somehow makes boxing look glamorous

Yes, the Hadid sisters are genetically blessed. How else can they eat burgers and look the way they do? But, they also work hard at it. One of Gigi Hadid's fave workouts is boxing, and although it's typically seen as an aggressive sport, the model manages to make it look glamorous. Gigi's trainer Rob Piela revealed to Self that the supermodel work out in the boxing ring at Gotham Gym in New York. Gigi told Vogue that she loves boxing because of the ability to constantly improve. And, because when she's in the ring, she "forgets she's working out" so much so that she loses track of time.

She even appeared in Reebok's #PerfectNever fitness campaign in 2016, dressed up in shiny black-and-red gloves and a glamorous braided ponytail. Her hope, she told Harper's Bazaar, is women are inspired to use physical fitness as an escape from "the negativity that surrounds them daily." We totally get that.
