Dana Perino's Pic With Much Older Husband Gives Major Grandpa Vibes
Dana Perino's age gap with her husband, Peter McMahon, is blatantly obvious in a recent Instagram photo she posted in July 2025 featuring the couple relaxing at the beach. Perino, 53, wears an orange and pink striped sweater and subtle makeup on her face. She is holding their dog, Percy, in the captionless photo, while McMahon, 71, stands beside her wearing a white polo shirt, green shorts, and a huge grin. The 18-year age difference between the couple is just as prominent in the casual setting as it is at an event where the Fox News anchor has a full face of makeup on. Perino always looks far younger than McMahon, regardless of the outfit or makeup look she's wearing.
Perino told People in a May 2025 interview that she was initially concerned about how her family would react to her starting a relationship with a much older man whom she met on a plane, but they were supportive of the romance. Perino said pursuing the relationship with the international businessman, whom she met in 1997, was one of the best decisions she ever made (McMahon and Perino married in 1998).
Perino, who was the second female White House press secretary under former President George W. Bush, told People that being married to an older man has helped her career. "I truly believe that nothing I have accomplished would have been possible without him. It wouldn't have meant as much," she said.
McMahon finds ways to stay young at heart with Perino
Although there is no way to hide the age gap between Dana Perino and Peter McMahon, he keeps his spirit young while hanging out with Perino and her friends. In an Instagram video Perino posted in September 2025, her assistant Kate DePetro updated McMahon on the plot of the hit show "The Summer I Turned Pretty" from Madison Square Garden, while the trio waited for Lady Gaga to take the stage. "THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY: Coming from the @ladygaga concert at MSG, here is your show update," Perino captioned the video.
DePetro gave McMahon a summary of the episode following Belly and Jeremiah's canceled wedding, calling it a waste, quipping that viewers basically watched her track an AirTag through Paris, before confirming that McMahon knew what an AirTag was (he did). She said Jeremiah was gaslighting Belly through the episode, and Conrad was depressed because he thought the wedding disaster was his fault. DePetro informed McMahon that Belly was staying in Paris, and the cliffhanger was which Fisher brother would show up to track Belly down.
McMahon offered the possibility that both brothers could be chasing her, but expressed his excitement about the update by sarcastically saying, " ... I was hoping we could do this outside [in the crowd of Lady Gaga fans] so that I couldn't hear what Kate was saying," giving the ladies a good laugh.
