Side-By-Side Pics Show How Much Prince Archie Has Sprouted Up In Height
Like a soap-opera character suddenly reappearing after a dramatic (and ratings-grabbing) departure years earlier, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now making a second go of life back in his home country of England. Whether it was true homesickness or Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were subtly admitting defeat with their U.K. return, in the wake of the royal defectors' failed media projects, only they know for sure. But a lot has changed in the six years since the Sussexes waved goodbye to their official roles as senior working royals. One of the most obvious lies in the way their family now looks. For instance, when the couple made their "Megxit," son Prince Archie was less than a year old and still a babe in arms. Now, the young prince is 7 and looking quite different from the way he did when the Sussexes previously resided across the pond.
In an Instagram post honoring Harry's 42nd birthday, on September 15, 2026, Meghan put together a slideshow video that included glimpses of Archie, including the one above. The grade-schooler is rapidly approaching Harry's height, appearing to be close to or even above the four-foot mark already. With a dad and uncle who are the tallest members of the royal family, there's every reason to believe Archie will reach or even surpass their marks before long. The young prince inherited more than just height from Harry too; he also has his dad's keen love of sports and the outdoors. In Meghan's video, Archie and Harry are seen with archery equipment, preparing to aim for the target; another post shows Archie joining his dad and sister on a fishing excursion.
Archie and his cousin George may be as tall as their dads one day
The only current member of the royal family who's taller than Prince Harry (by a mere inch) is his estranged older brother, William, Prince of Wales, who at 6'3" tops both Harry and their father, King Charles III. But coming up close behind in the height department is his oldest son and future king, Prince George, now a five-foot-nine student at Eton College. George's cousin Prince Archie, newly returned to the U.K., is at an unnamed British prep school, along with his sister, Princess Lilibet (already, a school snafu surrounding Meghan Markle has put the Sussexes back in the spotlight).
With six years separating them, George and Archie won't be schoolmates at Eton just yet. Even assuming Harry intends to send his son to his alma mater, Archie will be joining as a middle-schooler just as his cousin prepares to graduate. If the boys ever do socialize with each other, it'll either be as a result of a long-awaited reconciliation between the warring brothers, or a relationship they form themselves, independently of the rest of The Firm. Once George and Archie are adults, they may decide that they don't have to avoid each other just because their dads are at odds.
Ditto for Lilibet, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Once they reach full height, Archie and George should be equally matched. Going by the standard formula for calculating a child's eventual height (for boys, it's the parents' combined heights plus five inches, divided by two), Archie should top out at about six feet, while George should be at least 6'1." Could they eventually see eye-to-eye in more ways than one?
