'Dead Weight': What Lori Loughlin's Full House Costars Have Said About Her Divorce

In early September 2026, "Full House" alum Lori Loughlin officially filed for divorce from longtime husband Mossimo Giannulli. This widely expected development came a year after the celebrity couple officially separated, and around seven years after the college admissions scandal irrevocably damaged Loughlin and Giannulli's relationship. By all accounts, the "Full House" star, in particular, has been eager to move on from her nearly-30-year marriage and prioritize her own happiness. And, from the sounds of things, several of Loughlin's former sitcom co-stars are firmly in her corner amid the split. For example, fellow "Full House" alum Candace Cameron Bure voiced her support while speaking with People in February 2026. 

"I talked to Lori. And she's one of my dearest friends, so I'm always there for her," Bure confirmed at the time. More recently, Jodie Sweetin made her own thoughts on the matter clear. While she didn't mention Giannulli by name, the Hallmark star's choice of words made it clear where Sweetin stands regarding her former co-star's soon-to-be ex-husband. "[Loughlin] looks gorgeous! I haven't seen her in a while, but I'm sure she looks absolutely amazing," she enthused to Us Weekly in May 2026, cheekily adding, "There's nothing like dropping some dead weight to get you back out there looking cute." As always, Sweetin is nothing if not super candid.

Lori Loughlin's most vocal supporter amid her divorce from real-life husband Mossimo Giannulli is arguably none other than her former onscreen husband, "Full House" co-lead John Stamos. During an October 2025 appearance on the "Good Guys" podcast, he strongly opined that Giannulli was the mastermind behind the former couple's role in the college admissions scandal, which damaged their relationship, soured their reputation, and even put them both behind bars. "She goes to f***ing prison for this a**hole, right?" Stamos raged, though he quickly added that Loughlin took her two-month sentence in stride. 

Nevertheless, the "Fuller House" star declared she "didn't deserve to be dragged through that." Notably, while the prosecutors in the case described Loughlin as "fully complicit" in the scheme to bribe her daughters' way into college, they also agreed that Giannulli was the main driving force behind the operation (via ABC News). Hence why the fashion mogul was given a longer prison sentence — three months longer, to be exact. And given his long-standing friendship and working relationship with Loughlin, it certainly makes sense that Stamos feels the way he does, especially considering the publicly-available information. 

With the college admissions scandal in the rearview, the longtime couple's divorce pending in a court of law at the time of writing, and no fewer than three of Loughlin's former "Full House" co-stars publicly voicing their support for her, it's easy to see why she felt confident enough to return to Instagram in August 2026, following an extended break. Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, and Jodie Sweetin even made cameos in her big return video, as did fellow "Full House" stars Andrea Barber, Dave Coulier, and Scott Weinger.
