Kelly Clarkson's Son Remy Is Already A Budding Superstar

If there's one person on Earth who knows a thing or two about getting famous by singing on television, it's Kelly Clarkson. Years before she was the host of one of the most successful talk shows of the last decade, Clarkson found widespread notoriety as the very first winner of "American Idol" back in 2002. And to this day, she remains arguably the most famous winner in the show's history, with only Carrie Underwood really giving Clarkson a run for her money. And from the look — and sound — of things, Clarkson may very well have another budding superstar living right under her own roof.

While it's no secret that Clarkson's son, Remington "Remy" Blackstock, lives a lavish life, there's a chance he may have Frank Sinatra levels of fame and luxury in his future. Proving without a shadow of a doubt that he is his mother's son, Remy wowed the live audience at a November 2024 taping of "The Kelly Clarkson Show" by performing a cover of Sinatra's iconic 1969 track "My Way." The segment proved to be such a hit that Clarkson's team had no choice but to post the full performance to social media in early 2025.

Users in the comment section on Facebook were quick to praise Remy's talent, which may be a sign of things to come — depending, of course, on whether or not the younger of Clarkson's two children  decides to follow his mother's career path. "Well done, young man! he definitely takes after his beautiful and talented momma!" one user wrote. "My momma heart is bursting with pride for him and Kelly, and he isn't even my son," another commented.

By virtue of their mother, Kelly Clarkson, being such a big-time celebrity through her "American Idol" past, her continued musical success, and her more recent talk-show fame, it only stands to reason that River and Remy blackstock would grow up in the spotlight to some extent.

As a matter of fact, Remy's stunning performance of "My Way" was far from the only time he and his older sister appeared on "The Kelly Clarkson Show." As part of the 1,000th episode celebration in March 2025, the producers even aired a montage of some of the kids' greatest on-air hits (via YouTube). Then, when Clarkson bid farewell to the show in August 2026, not only did her kids join her on stage one last time, but she also gave a shout-out to Remy's warmly received Frank Sinatra cover (via YouTube).

But while Clarkson's kids may have bright celebrity futures ahead of them, in the meantime, the "Since U Been Gone" singer is making it a point to make sure they don't get too big for their britches. Speaking on her and late ex-husband Brandon Blackstock's parenting style during an appearance on "Live with Kelly and Mark" in April 2019, Clarkson said, "We're always playing that balance of, like ... letting them do fun stuff with us, but at the same time, like, trying to, like, keep them humble." She added, "Anytime they're, like, sad, I'm like, 'Are you sad in your big house with all your nice things?'"
