Hallmark romance movies are known and beloved for their fairy tale endings, but sometimes real life love stories can be just as cinematic. The main characters in Hallmark's romantic comedy "Just One Kiss" may have been brought together by their over-eager, meddling mothers from beyond the grave, but in real life the cast of the movie got together with their significant others in many different ways, from meet cutes on set to running into one another for the first time while traveling in Europe.

In the television movie "Just One Kiss,"  main character Mia Rivera (Krysta Rodriguez) meets her musical counterpart, Tony Romano (Santino Fontana), through what the two think are random encounters. In real life, some of the actors who appear in the Hallmark film actually did meet their partners through chance encounters with no expectations, while others have been with the same person since they were a young adult.

A number of the members of the movie's roster are, as far as we can tell, single, and some are in relationships but choose to keep the details of their romantic lives entirely private, like actor Garfield Wilson, who played Jack, once referenced having a fiancé in an interview but he has not publicly shared his fiancé's name. Actor Edwin Perez, who played Derek, got married in 2021, but it seems his spouse also leads a life entirely away from the spotlight. On the flip side, there are other cast members who have long-term partners who are no strangers to the public eye themselves. Meet the real-life loves of Hallmark's "Just One Kiss" cast.

Krysta Rodriguez met her boyfriend on a film set

Hallmark movie actor and Broadway star Krysta Rodriguez and her long-term boyfriend, Peter Westervelt, have one of the celebrity romances that could have been straight out of a Hallmark movie itself. The couple first met in 2015 on the set of the movie "My Bakery in Brooklyn" and fell for one another during their conversations on the commute to work. Unfortunately, despite their romantic beginning, the couple's relationship has not been without its challenges; Rodriguez was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, but she did not have to face the diagnosis alone after she met Westervelt.  by his girlfriend's side through treatments and a double mastectomy. In fact, he even let her shave his head when she was losing her hair due to chemotherapy.

Rodriguez's boyfriend is a graduate of Wake Forest University who now lives in New York City, the same city as his girlfriend. Westervelt, a writer, director, and filmmaker who is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild, has been there for Rodriguez emotionally and in a more professional capacity as well. In 2019, the real-life partner of the "Just One Kiss" star co-founded a film company called 3 Neon Signs with his girlfriend and another business partner. The following year, 3 Neon Signs produced Westervelt's film "You Were Always" that he both wrote and directed, and it won in the category of most talented new director at the NICE International Film Festival.

Santino Fontana married a fellow actor and Broadway star

Actor Santino Fontana is best known for voicing Prince Hans in "Frozen" and "Frozen 2." Frankly, the real love life of the actor who voiced Hans sounds like something out of a Disney movie. The "Just One Kiss" star began dating fellow Broadway performer Jessica Hershberg in 2011, and in 2014, they were even in the same production of "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella." (Fontana was Prince Charming and Hershberg was an understudy for Ella and ensemble member.) The two tied the knot in Upstate New York in 2015.

While some couples might recoil at the thought of working with their spouse, Fontana and Hershberg love any chance they get to share the stage. As Hershberg said in a 2017 interview with Dining With Strangers, "One moment you're dancing with that person on a Broadway stage, the next you're going home with them and watching TV in your PJs. It's a fun, cool, weird crossover." In the same interview, Fontana indicated that their love for each other is their top priority. "Our relationship is a lot stronger than either of our ambitions," he said, to which Hershberg added, "I think other couples in the business are different, but we try to always be together if we can."

Originally from Philadelphia, Hershberg took ballet as a child before she transitioned to musical theater in high school, studied at the University of Michigan, and moved to New York City in 2008 to follow her dream of a life on stage. The multi-talented performer also wrote a one woman play called "What You See Is What You Get" in 2019, and in 2024 she released her first solo album "Every Day Special."

Illeana Douglas' ex-husband worked in the entertainment industry

Actor Illeana Douglas focused on finding love for her son in her role as one of the matchmaking mothers in the Hallmark film "Just One Kiss," but in real life she's been the star of her own love stories. As of 2026, Douglas appears to be single, but she previously was in a high-profile relationship with Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese following Scorsese's marriage to ex-wife Barbara De Fina. Douglas has been in four of Scorsese's movies, including "Cape Fear" and "Goodfellas."

Reflecting on her eight-year relationship with Scorsese in an interview with Terry Gross during a 2015 appearance on NPR's "Fresh Air," Douglas acknowledged that there were some challenges that came with being linked to such a revered auteur. "I really did want that kind of John Cassavetes-Gena Rowlands relationship. That's what I was looking for, and I had it with him," she said. "The only problem for me was oh, but he's so much more famous than I am. So for me, being insecure — yes, that was always an issue, you know?"

Douglas was also married to producer and writer Jonathan Axelrod, one of the real-life partners of Hallmark stars who also worked in the entertainment industry. The couple tied the knot in 1998 and divorced in 2001. Axelrod, who wrote the 1972 movie "Every Little Crook and Nanny" and worked on the television series "Dave's World," also worked as an executive producer on over two dozen Hallmark movies, a point of connection for the two former partners. What's more, he was the former president of New World Pictures and Columbia Pictures Television. Axelrod died in 2024.

Matty Finochio's wife lives outside of the spotlight

There are plenty of, ahem, hallmarks and unwritten rules fans can count on when watching a Hallmark movie, from the cozy small towns to the signature happily ever afters. Another staple of the Hallmark romance genre is the supportive best friend who roots for their pal to find love. In "Just One Kiss," actor Matty Finochio's character, Nick, fits this description to a T. As one of Mia's best friends in the film, Nick encourages her to go after what, and whom, she wants.

In real life, the Hallmark actor is the star of a love story all of his own. Finochio revealed on Instagram that he got married to Karly Snow in 2018. In September of that year, he posted a pic that showed his wedding band with the simple caption, "She said, 'I Do.'" Although it is clear from social media how much the Canadian actor loves his wife, the couple generally keeps their relationship private. There is not a ton of public information about Snow, but based on the comments she's left on her husband's social media posts, it is clear that she has a sense of humor. The "Just One Kiss" actor shared a sweet selfie on Instagram of the two in honor of Valentine's Day in 2019, and Snow joked in the comments, "Your most liked photo. Your fans have spoken! Me over food pics!"

Kallie Hu had a picture-perfect engagement under a waterfall

Actor Kallie Hu played Bethany, a minor role in Hallmark's "Just One Kiss," but her real-life love story is anything but small. The actor, whose credits also include a supporting cast role in "Yellowjackets" and Peg in "Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies," got engaged to her best friend in the spring of 2024 in a scenic outdoor proposal that could be straight out of a Hallmark movie scene. Hu's husband, Alex, surprised her by getting down on one knee under a stunning cascading waterfall they hiked to. The couple later had a professional engagement photo shoot in the actor's hometown of Portland, Oregon, and posed in various outdoor locations looking as happy as Mia Rivera and Tony Romano at the end of "Just One Kiss." Hu and her husband got married outdoors at the Vancouver Club in August 2026 surrounded by dozens of friends and family members.

Though their engagement and wedding has been featured on social media, there is not much public information available about who the actor's husband is or what he does for work. Not only has she not shared his last name, but it appears he does not have an Instagram account.

Emily Maddison has been with her husband for over two decades

Emily Rose Maddison, who played the role of Francesca in the Hallmark movie "Just One Kiss," has been with her husband, Charlie Marsh, for a long time. In 2025, Maddison and Charlie celebrated 20 years together, 10 of those years including marriage. The two have moved through various stages of life with one another, including parenthood.

Maddison married her long-time boyfriend at the beginning of December in 2015 in an outdoor ceremony in the Bahamas, and a few years after the couple tied the knot, the "Just One Kiss" cast member became pregnant with their first child together. The Hallmark actor and her husband now share one daughter together, Savannah Rose Marsh, who was born in 2018.  The couple's young daughter already has an Instagram account and seems to love the camera like her mom, but Charlie, a graphic artist, stays out of the spotlight.

Maddison's husband runs the company Royal Wolf Designs  that designs custom logos for clothes, stickers, vinyl decals, and cars. The design company is a bit of a family affair; Maddison modeled clothing for her husband's company in the past, and for Savannah's third birthday in 2021, Charlie custom made birthday stickers that he put on their garage. When he is not busy spending time with their kid or graphic designing, the car enthusiast is either admiring classic Chevys or working out in the gym.

April Telek's husband helped raise her daughter from a previous relationship

In 2009, Christmas came early for April Telek, the actor who played Sheila in "Just One Kiss." On December 20, 2009, she donned a dress fit for a Hallmark princess and said "I do" to her husband Jamie Campbell. 16 years later, she shared snapshots from the day to Instagram with a sweet caption.

Like some of the other real-life families of Hallmark Channel stars, April and her husband have a blended family; Campbell has helped raise April's daughter from a previous relationship, Ava Marie Telek. In the aforementioned post, Telek reflected on the important role her husband played in her daughter's childhood and credited him with shaping her own parenting skills. The Hallmark actor wrote, "I can confidently say that you have made me a better mother than I would ever have been on my own. Raising Ava Marie ... with you has been a true privilege."

His wife may be an actor, but Campbell lives a life out of the spotlight with his family of three in  Vancouver, Canada.  However, if there is one thing we've learned about the relatively private, it is that gift giving seems to be his love language. To celebrate a decade of marriage, Campbell took his wife on a cruise to St. Thomas and gifted her a stunning pink emerald ring.

Nicole Major's wedding was a lavish Italian affair

In Hallmark's "Just One Kiss," Nicole Major played the small supporting role of Nicole. The actor's real-life love story seems like it could be one out of a fairy tale. Major, who also happened to be in the Hallmark original flick "Wedding Every Weekend," had a wedding that we sure wouldn't mind going to every weekend. On July 7, 2024, Major married Mike Tsoromocos, in Puglia, Italy, at a luxurious villa on the coast.

The couple has traveled throughout Europe together for more than just for their wedding, including taking a trip to Major's native Poland. Tsoromocos' Instagram account is private, but we do know that he attended the University of British Columbia and still lives in British Columbia with his wife where he works in real estate. The entrepreneur became a business owner when he created the Moko Property Group in 2011. Although his main profession is in the real estate business, the Hallmark actor's husband dipped his toe in the entertainment industry as well when he worked as an executive producer on a fictionalized documentary about mental health called "Are We Done Now?"in 2024.

Janet Gigliotti lives in Vancouver with her husband

In the Hallmark movie "Just One Kiss," actor Janet Gigliotti plays the role of the emcee, but in real life she has announced updates in her own love life as well. The actor is married to her husband Sean Gigliotti, and not unlike fellow "Just One Kiss" cast member Nicole Major, the Gigliottis live in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia. They share a home with two tabby cats. On her website, Janet gives an insight into her professional and personal life, from her past theatre projects to her love of travel with her husband. As she revealed in her about section, "Sean and I love to be jet setters and have been known to show up unexpectedly at a party in Boston or Stratford or New York."

The Canadian actor and her husband have shared photos from their travels, but they keep their love life private, and Janet's husband is fully out of the spotlight when it comes to his personal and work life as well. Sean has also worked in the film and television industry, but in a behind-the-scenes capacity. The Hallmark actor's husband has been a business associate on multiple seasons of the show "Frontline" from 2021 through 2026, as well as on the Academy Award-winning Ukrainian  documentary "20 Days in Mariupol."
