"Walker, Texas Ranger" proved that the Westerns don't need to take place in the past. Chuck Norris and the rest of the cast brought the genre into the present with action, charisma, and a whole lot of heart.

During a 2018 interview with KSiteTV, cast member Sheree J. Wilson reflected on the magic of "Walker, Texas Ranger." "It's just great how the show evolved beyond what the topical subject matter was, or what subject we were dealing with," she said. "We really got to know each other so that the audience knew how much we cared about each other and how much we loved and respected each other, and it transcends. We're a family, and we have each other's backs."

Since the cancellation of "Walker, Texas Ranger," the show's cast has had interesting careers. One cast member criticized a major award show. Another worked with J. J. Abrams. Another helped revive "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" franchise. Here's a look at the surviving cast of "Walker: Texas Ranger" — and what they look like now.

Sheree J. Wilson's been in made-for-TV Christmas flicks

Sheree J. Wilson is best known for her involvement in two major television franchises: "Dallas" and "Walker, Texas Ranger." In the former, she played April Stevens Ewing from 1986 to 1991 and in the latter, she played Alex Cahill from 1993 to 2001. Wilson reprised the role of Alex in the spin-off series "Sons of Thunder" and the television movie "Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire." She's also been in Christmas flicks like "A Country Christmas," "Christmas Belle," and "A Mermaid for Christmas." She also is an advocate for several organizations, including the National MS Society.

Nia Peeples had a supporting role on Pretty Little Liars

On "Walker, Texas Ranger," actor and singer Nia Peeples played Sydney Cooke. Years later, the "Fame" alum played Pam Fields, one of the adults, on the teen drama "Pretty Little Liars." She then went on to appear in direct-to-video movies and TV movies such as "Battle of Los Angeles," "Werewolf: The Beast Among Us," and "Lavalantula." So what's the "Pretty Little Liars" star up to now? Well, in the 2010s, she decided to leave Hollywood for a quieter and spiritual life, though she still makes appearances at fan conventions, is a published author, and has a large social media following.

Judson Mills was on a few more hit TV shows

Judson Mills lit up the screen playing Texas Ranger Francis Gage in "Walker, Texas Ranger." Since then, he has acted in a bunch of hit television shows, joining the casts of series like "CSI: Miami," "Saving Grace," and "Bones." He has not appeared on the big screen or the small screen since a 2016 episode of the series "Notorious." In 2026, Mills made headlines for criticizing the Emmys for excluding Chuck Norris from that year's "in memoriam" segment. "To see him not receive recognition at all and to see the family not receive that recognition was disappointing," he told TMZ.

Marco Sanchez appeared in two J. J. Abrams movies

On "Walker, Texas Ranger," Marco Sanchez played Detective Carlos Sandoval before reprising the role in the spin-off series "Sons of Thunder." He has appeared in many other television series, including "Desperate Housewives," "Ghost Whisperer," "Criminal Minds," "Two and a Half Men," and "CSI: Miami." He has also twice worked with one of the most famous directors in modern Hollywood: J. J. Abrams. Sanchez had roles in Abrams' blockbuster movies "Super 8" and "Star Trek Into Darkness."

James Wlcek has rarely appeared onscreen

On "Walker, Texas Ranger" and its spin-off series "Sons of Thunder," James Wlcek played Trent Malloy. Since then, his appearances on television and in movies have been few and far between. His most recent onscreen role was in the campy 2019 horror film "High Moon," also known as "Howlers." The film focuses on a 19th-century cowboy who is resurrected in the modern day so he can fight a pack of werewolves. Like "Walker, Texas Ranger," "High Moon" brings the Western genre into the present — albeit in a very different way.

Marshall R. Teague was on Friday Night Lights

Martial artist and actor Marshall R. Teague played several roles on "Walker, Texas Ranger," including Orson Wade, Harper Ridland, Randy Shrader, Rudd Kilgore, and Lieutenant Tracton. He also co-starred in the 2001 Western television film "Crossfire Trail." "Crossfire Trail" became the most-watched television film of all time, garnering 15.5 million viewers; the movie would hold this record until the release of "High School Musical 2" in 2007. Since then, he has had roles in "Friday Night Lights" and Mike Norris' conspiracy theory thriller "Amerigeddon."

Julia Nickson had an uncredited role in Ready Player One

Julia Nickson's first film appearance was in Sylvester Stallone's cult classic "Rambo: First Blood Part II." On "Walker, Texas Ranger," she played Dr. Susan Lee before acting in other shows such as "The Wild Thornberries" and "Power Rangers Wild Force." Nickson also had an uncredited role in Steven Spielberg's blockbuster film "Ready Player One." In 2025, she announced she was retiring from acting, though she emphasized that her career left her with many fond memories. "Feeling extraordinarily grateful for so many talented actors I have had the opportunity to be with on the screen," she wrote on Instagram. "Forever grateful."

Brad Leland was in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Like many of his fellow cast members on "Walker, Texas Ranger," Brad Leland is a television regular. He has acted on a number of shows, including "Dallas," "Friday Night Lights," "CSI: Miami," "Parks and Recreation," and "Veep." He also played a truck driver named Big Rig Bob in the 2003 remake of the 1970s horror classic "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre," which introduced Leatherface and his cannibal family to a new generation. His other films include "The Ringer," "Hancock," "Deepwater Horizon," "The Great Alaskan Race," and "The Land Whistle."

Mike Norris is Chuck Norris' son

While some nepo babies want nothing to do with fame or Hollywood, Mike Norris, son of Chuck Norris, appeared on  "Walker, Texas Ranger" a few times. He also acted in the show's television movie sequel "Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire." Mike and his wife launched 2nd Fiddle Entertainment, a faith-based movie studio that's produced movies he's written and directed. "I understood everything I've ever done in this business in one way goes back to me being Chuck Norris' son," he said on a 2026 episode of "Y'allcast." "So when I was doing the faith-based films, it was our thing."

Carlos Machado is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion and instructor

Carlos Machado acted in a few episodes of "Walker, Texas Ranger." However, he is most known for helping popularize Brazilian jiu-jitsu in the United States. In 2020, he received an 8th degree red and white coral belt. He trained Chuck Norris in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and did the same for Keanu Reeves on the set of "John Wick 2." In a 2026 Instagram post, he offered a piece of training advice: "Put yourself in terrible positions on purpose... then escape. Repeat that until it's no longer so uncomfortable."
