What The Surviving Leading Ladies Of '70s TV Look Like Today
It wasn't just disco glamour and New Hollywood cinema that defined '70s pop culture; a slew of beloved sitcoms and other iconic television programs took over living rooms throughout the decade. From nostalgic shows like "Happy Days" and "Three's Company" to socially conscious programs like "Little House on the Prairie" and "All in the Family," the 1970s introduced a new wave of groundbreaking TV — but it would not have been possible without the decade's legendary leading ladies. The women of '70s TV not only rounded out some of the most adored sitcom families of the time, but the stars of "Charlie's Angels" and "Wonder Woman" became pioneering small-screen sirens.
Many of the decade's most famous female TV actors are no longer with us, like the late, great Mary Tyler Moore, plus "Charlie's Angels" star Farrah Fawcett, "The Jeffersons'" leading lady Isabel Sanford, and so many more. But there are still plenty of iconic '70s sitcom stars who are still working today. Like the many other once-popular '70s actresses who are completely unrecognizable today, stars from many of the decade's biggest TV shows look totally different these days, while others appear to have hardly aged a day. From "Taxi" star Marilu Henner to Maureen McCormick on "The Brady Bunch," we're taking a closer look at what the surviving leading ladies of '70s TV look like today.
Dallas star Linda Gray has lightened up her hair over the years
Since starring in the hit soap-style drama "Dallas," actor Linda Gray's hair has gone through quite an evolution. She was known for her dark, heavily layered brunette hair throughout her run as Sue Ellen Ewing, even sporting a chic fringe mullet at one point in the series (seen on the left). Nowadays, however, Gray has brightened things up with the light-brown honey shades and warm blond highlights seen in the photo on the right, which was taken in 2023. She still has a face-framing haircut with a lot of layers, now just with a more sleek and modern touch.
Jaclyn Smith is still breathtakingly stunning today
You may remember her from her role as Kelly Garrett on "Charlie's Angels," but Jaclyn Smith is still gorgeous even decades after the series came to an end. She played one of the original bombshells on the popular crime drama, known for her rich brown curls and soft makeup that made her heavily lined eyes pop. Smith is still strikingly beautiful over 40 years later, though she now rocks curtain bangs and a golden-blond hair color, as pictured above on the right in a picture taken of Smith on the red carpet in 2026.
Joyce DeWitt looks totally different from her Three's Company days
Actor Joyce DeWitt played Janet Wood on "Three's Company" from 1977 to 1984, but she has adopted a whole new look since then. In the show, DeWitt's character was known for having curly dark hair, which she has since switched out for a chic, all-white pixie cut. Pictured on the right with her snow-white locks in 2024, DeWitt is nearly unrecognizable from her "Three's Company" character, but her super-short light hair helps her facial features pop just as much as ever, and she's still stunning today.
Marion Ross hasn't lost her vibrance following Happy Days
Marion Ross played the legendary role of Marion "Mrs. C" Cunningham on the beloved sitcom "Happy Days," and decades later, she is still making fans smile. The actor, who marked her 98th birthday in October 2026, continues to sport bright and vibrant hair colors that aren't so far off from Mrs. C's signature coppery-red locks. In the photo on the right, which was posted to Instagram by her son Jim in November 2025, Ross is rocking an equally vibrant shade of chestnut brown that helps keep her youthful energy alive.
Melissa Gilbert has embraced her natural hair color decades after Little House on the Prairie
Melissa Gilbert was only 9 years old when she started playing Laura Ingalls on "Little House on the Prairie" in 1974, and now she's among the many child actors who grew up to be stunning. While starring in the Western historical drama, Gilbert was known for braided hair and prairie-inspired wardrobe, and she has since blossomed into an elegant and stylish woman. The photo on the right, taken in 2025, makes it clear that Melissa Gilbert is proof you can embrace gray hair without the short chop, as she effortlessly pulls off long brown, silver-tinged locks.
Marilu Henner has embraced rich deep red hair in more recent years
Marilu Henner is the actor behind taxi driver Elaine O'Connor Nardo on the hit show "Taxi," where she was known for her witty one-liners, bright blue-green eyes, and signature auburn hair. Throughout the show, Henner's character sports a number of slightly varied red hair shades, including her vibrant copper tone she rocked during Season 3 (as pictured on the left). Since her breakout role, Henner has opted for darker, richer red hues, like the fiery deep burgundy shade seen in the photo on the right, taken in 2025.
Sally Struthers still sports Gloria's trademark blond locks from All in the Family
Known for her role as Gloria Stivic, Sally Struthers is the blond beauty who played the daughter of Archie and Edith Bunker on "All in the Family" for most of the 1970s. She's one of the surviving "All in the Family" cast members who made career pivots after the '70s sitcom, but she hasn't changed much in the hair department over the years. As seen in the red carpet photo shown on the right, taken of Struthers in September 2026, she hasn't let go of her trademark blond hair, which was curled and styled with thick front bangs at the time.
Lynda Carter's everlasting beauty is one of her biggest superpowers
After portraying one of the trailblazing TV heroines on "Wonder Woman" in the 1970s, actor Lynda Carter is still just as mesmerizing as ever. She no longer sports the iconic red and gold bustier and star-spangled booty shorts that her character was known for, but what '70s "Wonder Woman" star Lynda Carter looks like now is truly a sight to see. More than 50 years after she made her debut on television as the character, Carter has maintained her undeniable beauty with flawless skin and luscious dark-brown hair that contrasts perfectly with her hypnotizing blue-green eyes.
Cheryl Ladd is still a blond bombshell over 40 years after Charlie's Angels
Although decades have passed since she debuted on "Charlie's Angels," actor Cheryl Ladd is still just as gorgeous as ever. Known for joining the show as the blond-haired beauty Kris Munroe in Season 2, Ladd has long been regarded as the quintessential TV vixen, thanks to her gorgeous golden locks and enduring girl-next-door charm. Even as she's grown older, Ladd's beauty hasn't faded, and the stunning picture on the right, taken at the 2026 Primetime Emmys, is photo proof of her everlasting beauty.
Maureen McCormick still looks just like her teenaged Brady Bunch character
More than half a century after Maureen McCormick first graced screens as Marcia Brady on "The Brady Bunch," the actor somehow still looks so youthful. Since starring on the show as a teenager in the early '70s, McCormick hasn't changed much about her signature look, made up of smooth blond hair, minimal makeup, and defined eyebrows framing her big, bright eyes. As seen in the photo on the right, taken in August 2026, McCormick has incorporated eyeglasses into her daily wardrobe, and she still looks just as radiant as ever.
Kate Jackson's appearance shocked fans at a Charlie's Angels reunion
Actor Kate Jackson rocked short, dark-brown hair and soft glam during her time as Sabrina Duncan on "Charlie's Angels," but a lot has changed since she left the show in 1979. Jackson made a rare red carpet appearance in April 2026 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of "Charlie's Angels" alongside former co-stars Cheryl Ladd and Jaclyn Smith, where her drastically different look took center stage. Although fans were overjoyed to see the actors back together, many users online were shocked by Jackson's appearance, prompting a flurry of plastic surgery rumors to run rampant on social media.
