This Is The 7 Little Johnstons' Adorable Birthday Tradition

TLC's hit show 7 Little Johnstons showcases an all-American family with one major twist; they're all achondroplasia dwarfs. In fact, as The Things reports, the Johnstons', a family made up of biological and adopted children, is the largest of its kind known in the world. Fans have been entertained for years watching them find their place in a world that can often be unforgiving. The Johnstons are incredibly open with their various trials and tribulations, and as the years go on and the children get older, everything is getting equally more complicated and exciting for them.

Proud parents Trent and Amber are thrilled their biological daughter Elizabeth is making waves at college, where she's studying nursing, while Anna is also busy at college, and Emma and Alex are enjoying high school life to the fullest. Jonah, meanwhile, has landed his dream job. No matter what happens in life, however, family comes first, and there's one thing the Johnstons insist on doing for each kid's birthday that's incredibly heart-warming.

The Johnston kids are given the opportunity to give back

According to the official Instagram account for 7 Little Johnstons, each year, on their birthday, the kids are given $100 from their parents. They're free to do whatever they want with the money; spend it, save it, or donate it. For Emma's birthday, she chose to give back to several local businesses, including a hair salon and a nail business. As the post noted, "This year, Emma decided she wanted to support local small businesses and that's exactly what she did." Emma posed for several photos with her wad of cash and in the stores themselves, with a big smile on her face.

Fans rallied to support Emma's kind choice. One wrote, "Good job, Emma! And thank you Amber and Trent for raising good, thoughtful, caring and decent humans." Another described Emma as a "beautiful soul," while a third acknowledged how much the businesses would surely appreciate Emma's support, never mind the attention from the Johnstons' fame. Clearly, as the kids grow up in front of our eyes, they're turning into the kind of smart, thoughtful human beings their parents always envisioned them being.
