Why Dixie D'Amelio Wanted To Keep Her Relationship With Noah Beck Quiet

It's hard to keep track of the dating lives of social media celebrities, but for fans "shipping" the match of Noah Beck and Dixie D'Amelio, "Doah" isn't just a publicity stunt a la Jake Paul And Tana Mongeau, this couple is the real deal.

Back in October of 2020, Beck made their relationship official announcing to the paparazzi that he and D'Amelio had been dating for a month after rumors started swirling that the Sway House celeb was being friend-zoned. As he described it to Hollywood Fix, "The plan was to stay private," and the aspiring actor, being what he described to the outlet as "more out there" with his affections, brought the legitimacy of their feelings for each other to the forefront of the rumor mill. Explaining in his laid back Beck way, he revealed, "People were like, 'Damn, she doesn't like him,' and I was at home, just sitting there like, 'If only they knew.'"

For a couple so comfortable with documenting their lives on TikTok, D'Amelio's preference for privacy in her romantic relationship was hard for "stans" to swallow, but her reasons, according to an interview with People, had everything to do with, what Beck revealed in so many words to the outlet, was an uncomfortable situation with her ex and fellow Sway House member, Griffin Johnson.

Dixie D'Amelio had her guard up after her public break with Griffin Johnson

Dixie D'Amelio and Noah Beck haven't been shy about their relationship since going public nearly three months ago, but according to an exclusive interview with People, there is still a huge chunk of their combined 70 million TikTok followers that still aren't convinced it is genuine. When asked how the doubt makes him feel, 19-year-old Beck explained, "I don't take it personally. [Dixie] sometimes does, but she shouldn't, because these people don't know us." Adding, "At the end of the day, we are the only ones that know how we feel for each other."

Breakups are hard enough, but add D'Amelio's popularity and it's no wonder she wanted to keep their newfound love under wraps. Beck, understanding her dilemma, explained, "She previously got out of a public relationship, so she didn't want to be as public in this one, just because of previous experiences." He further explained, "We wanted to keep everything between us and we decided it would be better if we didn't post as much."

And while, as reported by Seventeen, the "Be Happy" singer had her "guard up" after a tumultuous break with Griffin Johnson, Noah Beck assured fans when interviewed by Hollywood Fix that even after an alleged diss track, things were fine between the three, adding that Johnson is "very mature about" the couple dating. As Beck wisely pointed out to People, despite the fame and attention, "We're just like any other normal teenage couple."
