Ingrid Andress: The Country Star Is Worth More Than You Think

Ingrid Andress is a master of blending music's hottest genres to create her own unique sound. The Nashville-based singer-songwriter has made a name for herself by adding a noticeable flare of pop and R&B to the traditional country style. 

While studying music at Berklee College, Andress joined the acapella group Pitch Slapped, which competed on season two of NBC's The-Sing-Off. After competing on the show for two seasons, Andress was mentored by acclaimed songwriter Kara DioGuardi (via All Music). After graduating college, she moved to Nashville and began pursuing a career as a songwriter. Andress has since written chart-toppers for Bebe Rexha, FLETCHER, and Dove Cameron. One of the most popular songs Andress wrote, was Charli XCX's international hit "Boys".

Reflecting on her songwriting skills, she told ABC News "You're not just born with the gift of songwriting. It takes time just like any sport or learning a language. You have to practice it. I feel like I can adapt to any situation now. To me, it's about making a good song that makes you feel something. That can be in any genre."

Ingrid Andress is a record-breaking artist 

In addition to writing hit songs for other artists, Ingrid Andress has also penned critically acclaimed tracks for herself. In 2020, Andress released her debut album Lady Like, which set the record for the all-time highest streaming debut album from a female country artist (via Variety).

One of the top tracks on the album is her debut single "More Hearts Than Mine." According to MusicRow, this ballad reached No. 1 on the Mediabase chart and was nominated for a Country Music Associate Award for Song of the Year and Grammy Award for Best Country Song. Besides being nominated for Best Country Song at the Grammy's, she was also nominated for Best Country Album and Best New Artist (via Grammy.com). Though Andress did not win in any of those categories, she took home the awards for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Breakthrough Artist-Writer of the Year at the MusicRow Awards (via MusicRow). 

Although her exact net worth is not known, Buzz Learn, estimates that as of 2021, Andress is worth between one million and five million dollars.
