Selena Gomez's Famous Exes: Inside The Singer's Dating History
Given the fact that singer and actress Selena Gomez has been in the limelight since starring as everybody's favorite wizard, Alex Russo, in Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place" at the tender age of 15, the star's dating life has never been a private affair. Besides her brief romance to fellow Disney Channel star Nick Jonas in 2008, the tumultuous relationships with Justin Bieber and The Weeknd, Gomez's dating life has been a mystery to the masses.
After photos of a steamy scene between Gomez and her co-star on "Only Murders in the Building," Aaron Dominguez, were released to the public, fans began to wonder if the pair were dating. During a March 2021 interview with the Los Angeles Times, she reflects, "I think people only care because I'm young, and the older I get, the less they'll care. For now, it's a part of the job that I don't really like."
Like it or not, Gomez's dating life has been fairly interesting over the years. Even if you don't keep tabs on her, it's likely that you're at least somewhat aware of the "Rare" singer's relationships with Justin Bieber and The Weeknd.
Gomez has dated quite a few famous men
Between 2010 and 2015, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber had a fairly rocky relationship. In fact, recently, during an interview with NPR, Gomez even alluded to the fact that she was the victim of Bieber's emotional abuse. "It's dangerous to stay in a victim mentality," Gomez recalled. "And I'm not being disrespectful, I do feel I was a victim to certain abuse."
Two years later, in January of 2017, Gomez was spotted kissing The Weeknd. For ten months, the pair posted about their love on social media and were spotted together many times. Their relationship ended shortly after Bieber and Gomez were spotted together after Gomez's kidney transplant in the summer of 2017, according to Elle Magazine. Bieber and Gomez only dated briefly from the end of October 2017 through March 2018 before calling it quits once again. Gomez appears to be on good terms with both men, despite the rocky nature of both relationships (via PopSugar).
Prior to dating Bieber and The Weeknd, Gomez had brief romances with Nick Jonas in 2008, Taylor Lautner in 2009, "Wizards of Waverly Place" co-star David Henrie in 2014, Zedd and Charlie Puth in 2015. A few other celebrities were also linked to Gomez romantically throughout the years, including Samuel Krost in 2016, and most recently, as was revealed by Harper's Bazaar, Miami Heat player Jimmy Butler in December of 2020.
