Katey Sagal was married to Freddie Beckmeier from 1977 through 1981. He was the founder of the Beckmeier Brothers and a member of the band Full Moon. He also was the former bassist of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Before marrying Beckmeier, Sagal was involved in a romantic relationship with KISS founder Gene Simmons (via Ultimate Classic Rock). She dated Simmons on and off for several years before meeting her first husband. When Beckmeier asked her to marry him, Sagal reportedly told the KISS bassist she would marry Beckmeier unless he proposed. Sagal said that Simmons laughed at her, so she married Beckmeier in 1977, only to divorce three years later.
During her marriage to Beckmeier, Sagal was not working in Hollywood as an actor. Instead, she was working as a backing vocalist for Simmons' solo album. She also hit the road with Bette Midler as a member of The Harlettes in 1978 alongside Linda Hart and Franny McCartney (via Bustle).

Katey Sagal was married to Fred Lombardo for three years. Lombardo was also a musician. They tied the knot in 1986 and divorced in 1989. In 1990, Katey Sagal began dating drummer Jack White. In 1993 they tied the knot (via Superbhub). Before the couple wed, in 1991, Sagal was pregnant with their first daughter, a little girl they named Ruby. Ruby was stillborn eight months into her pregnancy. "It was a very difficult thing. I lost a child at almost eight months, and I could not wrap my brain around it," she said. Sagal's pregnancy was written into the "Married With Children" storyline but was later dismissed as a dream sequence out of respect for Sagal (via Do You Remember). "'This is what they say about stillbirth, that 60% of it is God's will and there's no medical reason. That's what I was told. The couple would have two more children, a daughter, Sarah Grace, in 1994 and a son, Jackson James, in 1996. They would split in 2000, citing irreconcilable differences (via The Associated Press).
Katy Sagal's current husband is Kurt Sutter
Katey Sagal married Kurt Sutter in 2010. The couple was introduced through a mutual friend (via E! Online). "He asked me if I would have coffee with him sometime, and I said yes, and then I was kind of was out of touch because I had my little kids and was running around with my children. And then he called me like a couple of months later and asked me to coffee, and we went and kind of never left each other after that."
Sagal and the "Sons of Anarchy" creator welcomed daughter Esme via surrogate in 2007 (via People). "At this point, I was too old to carry a child," she explained. "So, at first, we explored adoption, but that proved to be way more difficult than I expected. We went through the whole in-vitro fertilization process, and our embryos were not strong, but we thought, 'Let's give it a shot, and if it's meant to be, it's meant to be. And if it wasn't, we weren't going to do it," she said.
