Here's What We Know About The Birth Of Princess Beatrice's Baby

Princess Beatrice, the oldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, is a mom (via BBC and Town & Country). The 33-year-old gave birth to her first child, a daughter, with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, this weekend, with her Twitter account sharing that the new parents were "delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London."

The announcement went on to declare, "The new baby's grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news. The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf."

As the BBC notes, Christopher is the new dad's son from a previous relationship. Meanwhile, the outlet also reports that the baby girl will be eleventh in line for the throne.

Princess Beatrice's baby's name is a hot topic

As People reports, the name of Beatrice's daughter has not yet been shared, but interestingly, will likely include a title, unlike the son of the royal's sister, Eugenie. That's because his father is an Italian count, according to the outlet, not because she is the great-granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth.

Meanwhile, the fact that no name has been announced has not stopped folks from speculating as to what it might be, with a separate People story noting bets are even being hedged on the matter.

Among the top contenders are Florence, Arabella, and Cecilia, as well as Francesca and Elizabeth. No matter what moniker the new parents decided upon, there's no doubt the news will be shared in due course, and that we will also get to see a photo of the sweet little one.

Just how soon that happens is anyone's guess, considering that as of yet, we have not laid eyes on an official picture of Lilibet, the daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who was born months ago.
