Cynthia Bailey Responds To NeNe Leakes' Dig Over Missing Gregg's Funeral

After battling colon cancer, Gregg Leakes died on September 1st at just 66 years old (via ET Online). In honor of the businessman's extraordinary life, his wife NeNe Leakes hosted a Celebration of Life Memorial a few days later. Many of the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" alum's former co-stars attended the event including Lisa Wu, Porsha Williams, and Marlo Hampton. However, one casemate was noticeably absent from the touching event. During an appearance on the Atlanta radio station V-103, Leakes addressed Cynthia Bailey's absence at her late husband's memorial services (via People). The actress said, "She didn't even come to the repast," adding, "She did come, like, a week later after everything was done. She came by my lounge."

Though Leakes revealed she was very upset Bailey skipped out on the funeral, the 54-year-old was unaware of these feelings. In an interview with Page Six, Bailey explained why she missed the service.

Cynthia Bailey doesn't regret missing Gregg Leakes' funeral

After NeNe Leakes expressed her anger at Cynthia Bailey for missing her late husband Gregg Leakes' funeral, the model revealed to Page Six that she missed the service because she was out of town. Bailey added that she felt it would be fine to skip the funeral because she was able to later spend one-on-one time with her friend a week later. She explained, "I'm really glad, honestly looking back, that I didn't make it to the actual celebration [of life] because I think if I had, I never would have had the moment that I got to have with her just hanging out with her at her lounge and pretty much closing the place down."

Though Bailey doesn't regret her decision she admits she felt "so bad" that she had to miss the service. She continued, "I decided that once I got back to Atlanta, I really wanted to, you know, just try to see her. I wanted to give my condolences and just give in my respect out of respect for Gregg in person." While Bailey was "nervous" to see Leaks and felt things were "awkward at first" the pair were able to hug things out and ease into normalcy. Hopefully, these former co-stars can hash things out again.
