Selena + Chef Season 4 - Details We Know So Far

It's always fun to dive deep into an intellectual mystery thriller show, push your fear tolerance to the limit and binge a horror show, or even feel all the feels and watch a tear-jerking drama. However, nothing quite matches a simple, easy-to-digest, and endearing show about cooking.

Truly comfort food for the soul, cooking shows with a story are the ultimate crowd-pleasers. "Selena + Chef" has been a 2021 favorite when it comes to easy-to-watch TV. The HBO Max show has already had three seasons within the span of two years (via GMA News Online).

The past three seasons of "Selena + Chef" have all been huge hits, with The Takeout even naming the show "One of the few good things to be born out of quarantine." With the first season taking place through Zoom, fans loved how relatable Selena Gomez's kitchen struggles were. It was even more entertaining to watch her fumble in front of the likes of Roy Choi and Nancy Silverton. If you've already binged all three seasons and are looking for a fourth, here's everything we know about Season 4 of "Selena + Chef."

Has Selena + Chef been renewed for Season 4?

It's rare for a show to be such a success that it surpasses the usual release format and releases two seasons within one year. "Selena + Chef" quickly grew a fan base, and the fans kept getting more and more. Season 3 just wrapped up on HBO Max as the final few episodes were released on November 11, 2021, but before the season even concluded, fans were already given the green light on a fourth season.

On November 10, 2021, Deadline announced that HBO Max would be renewing the series for Season 4. Although there isn't a premiere date set, it's expected to be released sometime in 2022. If previous release dates are anything to go by, it's likely that fans will be getting the new season within 4-6 months (via Mashed). This means there's plenty of time to catch up on the newly released episodes, and to binge-watch the first three seasons again and again.

Who can you expect to see in Season 4?

One of the most charming elements of "Selena + Chef" is the people. You have the adorable Selena Gomez herself, relatable as ever, attempting to nail every recipe the same way we all do. Plus, there's the other side to the show, which is that fans get a detailed cooking tutorial from world-famous chefs themselves.

Past seasons have featured huge names such as Aarti Sequeria, Ayesha Curry, Aaron Sanchez, and even the one and only Jamie Oliver (via IMDb). While HBO Max has yet to reveal the chefs that will be on board next season, fans can only imagine that the easing of travel restrictions this season could promise the most exciting cast yet.

Of course, "Selena + Chef" would not be what it was if it weren't for Gomez itself, but just in case you had any doubts, the singer confirmed her return. "I am looking forward to another season of being in the kitchen with some of the world's best chefs," Gomez shared with Deadline. "Hopefully, my skills have improved. More importantly, we've been able to raise money for incredible charitable organizations." With every chef highlighting their own choice of charity, "Selena + Chef" has raised $400,000 for 26 nonprofit organizations, per Deadline.

Season 4 will have a new sunny setting

The first season of "Selena + Chef" was an instant hit. How could it not be? Not only were fans promised star chefs cooking up delicious dishes, but this show came with the highlight of starring Selena Gomez and watching her struggle to follow along, as anyone would. It certainly helped that the show launched at a much-needed time, while everyone was stuck in lockdown and attempting to get to know their kitchens a little better.

The first season featured Gomez stuck at home like the rest of the world while attempting (and sometimes failing) to follow along as world-famous chefs helped her (via Stylecaster). Every season that followed brought with it its own set of exciting cast members as well as hilarious moments, like Gomez incorporating an "okey-dokey jar" for every time she overuses the phrase (via The Spool).

Deadline revealed that the upcoming season will feature an exciting location switch-up. Executive Vice President of Non-Fiction and Live-Action Family at HBO Max, Jennifer O'Connell, shared, "We are thrilled to continue this delicious series for season four and even more excited to take it to a new setting. The beach vibes will absolutely take it to the next level and we can't wait to see what recipes Selena and the chefs cook up next!" We can't wait to see what the new season has to offer!
