Inside Chrishell Stause's Relationship With Jason Oppenheim

"Selling Sunset" was one of those instant Netflix hits that went viral essentially the second it was released in March 2019 (via IMDb). The show managed to tap into a genre of reality TV that hadn't been combined before — drama, style, fights, and real estate. It had it all.

Three seasons later, the show is a huge hit that fans can't wait to binge-watch. The stunning cast members have no shortage of tension and feuds, and it comes with the bonus of getting an inside tour of L.A.'s finest million-dollar homes. It's one of those shows you secretly hate-watch in an envious rage.

With Season 4 premiering on November 24, fans can't wait for the latest installment (via Us Weekly). Did Davina Portraz finally sell that house (via Oprah Daily)? How is Christine Quinn handling motherhood? But after a shocking reveal, fans; burning questions have been set aside and replaced with the urgent need to watch how Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim got together.

Before the beginning

Season 1 of "Selling Sunset" featured a lot of drama, but most importantly revolved around newcomer Chrishell Stause joining The Oppenheim Group and attempting to fit in with the tight-knit colleagues at the real estate agency, per Screen Rant. Chrishell had a rocky go of it with her conflict with the huge personality of Christine Quinn, but the twin brothers Jason and Brett Oppenheim always had her back

When fans were first introduced to the cast, Chrishell was married to ex-husband Justin Hartley. Two years into their marriage (and two seasons into "Selling Sunset"), Chrishell underwent a shocking — and very public — divorce in November 2019, per Elle. Chrishell was reportedly blindsided by the "This Is Us" star filing for divorce, and fans watched the aftermath play out on Season 3 of the show. For months after the marriage ended, rumors continued to swirl surrounding whether Hartley was unfaithful, especially after Hartley went public with girlfriend Sofia Pernas in August 2020, per People

Meanwhile, Jason was portrayed as the player-bachelor type. Still, it was revealed that Jason had previously dated fellow cast member Mary Fitzgerald, and many fans speculated that he still had feelings for her despite her getting married on the show, per Cosmopolitan. When Chrishell's divorce played out, Jason was very supportive and came to her comfort, as was evident on the show. But fans weren't prepared for the surprise reveal that they were together.

The JLo Effect

Knowing what fans know now, it's funny to think that just in May, Jason Oppenheim spoke to Page Six about costars dating on the show and thought it "probably wouldn't be an epic idea." The real estate mogul claimed, "Dating is just not a priority for me right now."

Flash-forward to a mere two months later, and Chrishell Stause posted an Instagram surprise reveal on July 28 that shook the internet. What at first sight seemed like an innocent collection of holiday photos seemed a little confusing considering her caption, "The JLo effect," but all became clear on slide 6 when Jason and Chrishell were all loved up. Out of the blue, the pair were Instagram official.

That very same day, Jason spoke to Us Weekly to further confirm the relationship and he shared, "Chrishell and I became close friends and it has developed into an amazing relationship. I care about her deeply and we're very happy together." Their castmates flooded the comments section congratulating the pair, with Jason's ex Mary Fitzgerald commenting, "Nothing makes me more excited than to see two of my closest friends together and making each other so happy," via Us Weekly.

The couple had been dating for months before the reveal

Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim have made huge strides since announcing their relationship in July. First, the happy couple went public at the "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" premiere red carpet, per Cosmopolitan. The pair has continued to share multiple loved-up Instagram shots together, and the paparazzi became obsessed with catching shots of the duo. They certainly weren't shy about the attention, even getting caught displaying some major PDA on more than one occasion, per Page Six

Chrishell finally decided to spill the deets when she joined E! News in August to discuss her relationship with Jason. The "Days of our Lives" star shared, "It's just one of those things. You don't want to share with everybody and get all their opinions before you really know what it is." Chrishell also shared that the Instagram reveal was as sudden for her as it was for fans, saying, "We really were really private and secretive for as long as we could until we realized the walls were closing in. People were getting a little savvy to it ... We made it to a point where we're really happy to share it because we knew exactly what it was, so it's all good."

Fans can't wait to find out how much of the relationship is shared on Season 4 of "Selling Sunset" — we want every single detail!
