Inside Halle Berry's Relationship With Van Hunt
After teasing the public about having a new man in her life, actress Halle Berry made her romantic relationship with musician Van Hunt Instagram official in September 2020. In the months that followed, the pair were frequent guests on each other's Instagram accounts, consistently posting touching tributes and steamy vacation photos.
Prior to dating Van Hunt, Berry's relationship history included three marriages: one to former MLB player David Justice, another to R&B singer Eric Benét, and a third to French actor Olivier Martinez, according to People. "She's had some negative experiences [with men] but Van has taught her to love again — and love herself," an inside source told Us Weekly in November 2020. "He's a wonderful, caring man."
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight in March 2021, Hunt said that his new music was heavily influenced by his new muse. "The inspiration for our relationship goes across everything, even in my parenting. I'm a completely different person, I can say it like that, and I think that it's improved every aspect of my life."
Then, in November 2021, Berry told an Extra reporter during a red carpet event that finding love with Hunt had completely changed her life. "When you're loved and supported as a woman, everything changes," Berry said. "The day looks brighter, everything looks better. Your opportunity seems limitless ... That's what's happened."

Halle Berry and Van Hunt sparked marriage rumors on New Year's Day 2022 when she posted a photo of the pair kissing in what appeared to be a tropical church on her Instagram account. "Well, IT'S OFFICIAL," Berry captioned the post, leading many celebrities, including Alyssa Milano, Ava DuVernay, Octavia Spencer, Megan Good, and Taraji P. Henson, to congratulate the couple on tying the knot. One day later, Berry shot down the rumors that she had married Hunt, saying, in part, "We were just having some New Year's Day fun!" in another Instagram post.
A source close to Berry claimed that the pair share an amazing chemistry. "Halle seems incredibly happy," a source told People. "Right from the start, they had great chemistry. You could tell that Halle was pretty crazy about him. ... They seem to have a lot in common. They love traveling. They work out together. It seems like an amazing relationship."
In an interview with Women's Health in December 2021, Berry shared her feelings about Van Hunt. "I wish I had met him sooner so I could have loved him longer," Berry said. "I just feel fulfilled. I feel happy in my life romantically, as a mother, as an artist. I'm a much better mother in this circumstance than I would have been had I stayed in a romantic relationship that didn't serve me and didn't make me feel the way I need to feel as a woman."
