Nick Jonas and his wife of three years Priyanka Chopra shared the most wonderful news with fans last week. Fans had long wondered if the famous duo was looking to become parents and they are often asked about it during interviews. "I definitely want to be a father someday," Jonas said previously (via Us Weekly). Meanwhile, in March of 2020, Chopra said about having kids, "It is something that I definitely want to do and I'm hoping that whenever God wills it, at the right, opportune time, it'll happen."

But there was a major hint that Jonas and Chopra were closer to welcoming a child than anyone knew — and it went right over most of our heads!

Nick Jonas may have thought his wife was about to share their news

The moment we are all looking at a little bit differently now that Jonas and Chopra have welcomed their baby happened during the Netflix special "Jonas Brothers Family Roast" (via BuzzFeed News). The actress was one of the roasters, saying at one point, "I love that I married a man who, like myself, values family. If you don't know, we're the only couple who doesn't have kids yet."

She was referring to the fact that Kevin Jonas and his wife Danielle are parents to two little girls, Alena and Valentina (via People). Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner welcomed daughter Willa in 2020.

Chopra went on to say in her roast, addressing her husband, "Which is why I'm excited to make this announcement. Sorry, babe. We're expecting..." As BuzzFeed News points out, Jonas has a look on his face that seems to suggest that he is thinking his wife is going to announce to the world they are expecting a baby — and they hadn't discussed this prior to the show's taping in October.

But the star's punchline was that as non-parents, they were expecting, "To get drunk tonight! And sleep in tomorrow!"
