What Deepti Said When She Finally Confronted Shake At The Love Is Blind Reunion

The much-awaited Season 2 reunion of "Love is Blind" aired on Friday, March 4, and the Internet is buzzing. Fans were anticipating the update with fan-favorite Deepti Vempati and villain Abhishek "Shake" Chatterjee.

Shake proposed to Deepti sight unseen, but shortly after seeing her, repeatedly professed his lack of physical attraction to her, per Page Six. He even said that he needed to drink to feel like he could be intimate with Deepti and that dating her felt like being with his aunt.

Shake had a penchant for making several cringe-worthy comments like this, quickly making him one of the most controversial reality TV stars on the show.

During the reunion, a montage of Shake's derogatory comments regarding the women played, ranging from questions on the women's dress sizes to chiding one of the women on her fitness habits. Deepti ultimately rejected Shake at the altar, but has now become aware of his comments that compared her to his aunt, prompting Deepti's family to respond. On Instagram, Deepti's brother called Shake a "loser" for commenting about her body on-and-off the camera.

Shake defended himself at the reunion and said, "I wanted more than anything for this to work. And for me, that meant I knew that at least a certain physical body type to get me in the ballpark ... If I were to marry somebody, and you know there was a big weight discrepancy, it would be very hard for me to get past that."

Deepti didn't hold back in her response to Abhishek's offensive comments

"I just want to say it's okay to not be physically attracted to somebody. Guess what? There's a million other people who are," Deepti Vempati responded to Abhishek "Shake" Chatterjee at the reunion.

She added, "It's the way you go about life. It's how you do it and how you say it that's extremely disrespectful. It's degrading to women. And I'm so happy for every single person on this couch today because they have my back and they call you out."

It was then that castmate Natalie Lee added to Deepti's statement saying that there were many other derogatory comments Shake made about Deepti behind her back that weren't aired on the show. Several other women then chimed in saying, "That was a watered-down version."

Deepti continued, "Honestly, look at the way you're speaking. Every single person has an issue with you. That says a lot about your character. That's all I'm going to say."

But that wasn't all Deepti had to say, and fans don't blame her. After Shake rebutted and said, "That's what it's turned into, unfortunately yeah," Deepti called out Shake's lack of self-accountability.

"It's not turning into it. It's a reality check for you and you lack the self-awareness to even know that you're doing something wrong. And it's flabbergasting to me. The fact that I ever respected you as a person, I'm mind-blown," Deepti retorted.

Deepti speaks about what hurt her the most

For Deepti Vempati, it didn't bother her that Abhishek "Shake" Chatterjee wasn't physically attracted to her, according to "Love is Blind." It was how he disrespected Deepti and her family.

During the reunion, Deepti told Shake, "And I brought you to my family. I've never done that. For my dad and my mom to sit there and watch you say these disgusting f–ing things about me is so degrading. There's a way to say I'm not physically into her. Guess what your aunt is probably dope as f–k."

Deepti acknowledged that several of her castmates warned her about the comments Shake was making, cautioning her that "this is not a person you want to marry." But she said she didn't know the complete extent of his comments.

On the show, she said, "He was straightforward with me, 'I'm not physically attracted to you.' Listen, I don't give a f–k if you're not. But if you care about somebody and you're supposedly their friend, you do not disrespect them on national f–king TV. And that is the most hurtful part. I do not care if he's not attracted to me. Don't care."

Shake finally admitted that he didn't handle the situation in the best way, to which Deepti responded, "You just don't know how to speak. Especially to women."

Amen, sister! Deepti dodged a bullet and is living her best life.
